    IM Specialist Solution Architect

    Purpose of Job

    • Translates the business priorities and vision of the Product Owner into technical plans and implementations and works closely with the Product Owner and the Business Analyst early in the Demand process to bring in the technology considerations and opportunities in the demand evaluation.
    • Oversee the delivery of designs all the way through to transitioning, including managing the performance of service providers who form part of the delivery teams.
    • Architect and design comprehensive solutions that meet business needs in support of given product(s) by translating those needs into solution specific architecture and designs to create solutions that are aligned to the Product Owner’s or Project stakeholders’ vision and also to IM’s architecture standards and principles, and that leverage common solutions and services, as well as meet financial targets.
    • Lead the Participate in solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case and re-evaluate benefits realisation as required.
    • Ensure that the solution integrates into the existing IM environment, whilst validating that they are fit for purpose and sustainable to operate.
    • Support ongoing and regular reviews to monitor delivery and contribute to changes in strategy, vision, or approaches in the wider organisation to ensure awareness of alignment of the Technology landscape with business strategy and technology investment.

    Key Accountabilities

    Chief Surveyor

    Purpose of Job

    • To support the survey Manager with mine specific surveying functions by managing, controlling all the surface and underground related work on an operational level for all the shafts on a mine thus ensuring that the mine complies with the regulation as stipulated in MHSA Reg.17. Provide the leadership required to manage the day to day survey function as well as supporting direct reports with coaching and training to successfully perform their duties. Perform all surface surveys and underground check surveys

    Key Accountabilities
    MHSA Reg.17 Statutory compliance by Coordinating and Controlling the activities of the surveyor

    • Ensure the surface and underground surveying are within prescribed statutory limits
    • Coordinate and control surface and underground surveying to ensure all structures are captured on the statutory plans and all planned structures are in the correct position on site
    • Conduct check surveys primary and secondary
    • Assist the Survey manager in preparing undermining and erection of surface by collating infrastructure detail
    • Pro-actively issue warnings regarding dangerous holing, accumulations of water and gases, old workings and geological disturbances

    Surface monitoring of structure as per MHSA Reg 17. requirements and license agreements

    • Proactively create job request for surface monitoring by the Surface Survey team
    • Communicate any deviations to Survey Manager

    Support Mining and services functions with survey request and ensure SLA adherence

    IM Specialist Business Analyst

    Purpose of Job

    • This role is the vital link between IM and Business ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of software product’s features. The role is responsible for functional analysis within the Order to Cash environment and will elicit and refine requirements through an iterative process of planning, defining acceptance criteria, prioritizing, developing and reviewing the results so that product features align with business goals.  

    Key Accountabilities

    • Contribute to Business and IM Strategy and Vision by partnering with business to align with strategies that drive improved business outcomes and value across the Portfolio.  
    • Adopt IT architecture standards and principles, governance, frameworks and tools to effectively manage demand and reporting.  
    • Provide the interface into IM for Portfolio, Product Suite and Product Owners  
    • Build and manage trusted stakeholder relationships that will encourage information sharing to leverage technology and innovation. 
    • Support the Product Owner to define the Product Vision and Product Roadmap of initiatives focusing on short, medium and long-term goals.  
    • Translate the business priorities into high-level requirements, defining the Epics, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and the Product Backlog to fit sprint delivery cycles. 
    • Work closely with the Product Owner and Solution Architect early in the Demand process to bring in technology and non-functional considerations in demand evaluation. 
    • Participate in solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, leveraging off common solutions and services, and early-phase project estimates to contribute to the business case. 
    • Oversee the delivery of solutions all the way through to transitioning, including managing the performance of service providers that form part of the delivery teams. 
    • Designing of functional specifications for Enhancements and Projects 
    • Business facing lead for escalations – responsible to manage business expectation, resolve conflicts and ensure all responsible parties in IM/ business collaborate to deliver on time and within quality  
    • Participate in and ensure end-to-end testing is delivered timeously, including functional and UAT.  
    • Consistently upskill in understanding and defining the Order to Cash processes (documented process as well as system executed process) 

    Formal Education

    • University Bachelor's Degree OR BTech (Information Technology Degree preffered)

    Minimum Experience

    • 6+ relevant years of experience in delivering technical solutions in the Order to Cash sales environment 
    • 6+ Experience working with SAP systems (SD, IS-OIL, C4C/CRM, BTP)

    Senior Management Accountant

    Purpose of Job

    • This position involves the intersection of trading operations and financial analysis, ensuring the efficient management and reporting of financial activities associated with trading. The analyst plays a pivotal role in driving profitability, reducing risks, and optimizing financial strategies across trading portfolios

    Key Accountabilities

    • Analyze financial data related to trading operations, including profit and loss statements, cost structures, and revenue streams.
    • Prepare detailed reports and forecasts to assess the financial performance of trading portfolios.
    • Present insights and recommendations to management to drive decision-making and improve performance.
    • Report to the VP SC M&S and Strategic Sourcing and Head Commodity Trading & Input Materials on the daily, monthly, budget, forecasted financial performance, or other ad-hoc requests.
    • Present and confirm the accuracy and completeness of SAP data to cost centre owners.
    • Prepare SAP journals to ensure correct cost allocation between GL accounts and cost centre's.
    • Prepare detail cost centre information to enable cost centre owners in preparing and managing their costs/budgets.
    • Prepare monthly analysis of cost centres to identify areas of concern to be addressed by cost centre owners/BU management.
    • Give guidance to cost centre owners in terms of budget and forecast trends and requirements
    • Develop budgets and financial forecasts for trading activities.
    • Prepare and analyses financial information received for budgets and forecasts.
    • Perform variance analysis of expenditure against budget, prior year and forecast.
    • Perform variance analysis for management and group reporting.
    • Variances on pricing and volumes reconciled and explained
    • Ensure strict controls over cash management including ensuring payments are made on time, letters of credit or other guarantees are issued when required, daily monitoring of transactions, working closely with the trading team, as well as reporting for group purposes. Maintain the accounting (in terms of relevant standards and Sasol Group Accounting Manual), perform analysis of transactions, accounting and reporting of hedge transactions (knowledge of hedge accounting required).
    • Preferable to have a good understanding of hedging and be able to explain in detail price and volume variances.
    • Evaluate completeness of monthly cost and create provisions were necessary.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations/schedules for GL accounts under their control.
    • Gains/losses recorded and reconciled monthly for hedging activities.
    • Working capital management
    • Prepare the financial instruments and purchase commitment disclosure schedule at reporting periods.
    • Report to the Crude Oil Procurement Committee and Hedging Committee (including Sasol Oil Board) regarding hedging status and progress.
    • Tracking of financial and operating results against KPIs to be reported to Trading team.
    • Liaise with both internal and external auditors and ensure compliance to SOX and internal control.

    Formal Education

    • University Bachelor's Degree OR BTech in a finance related field

    CA(SA) would be an advantage 

    Minimum Experience

    • 6+ relevant years with added advantage for oil industry experience
    • SAP experience, advanced excel skills as well as Power BI knowledge will be an added advantage.
