    Learner - Administration

    JOB PURPOSE

    • To assist by performing extensive secretarial and administrative duties to facilitate the smooth and effective running of the department, inclusive of diverse travel arrangement, contractual and invoice processing, and training material Support.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Internal systems such as E-Buy, Concur, SharePoint, Teams
    • Arranging travel including flights, accommodation, and car hire
    • Coordination of internal meetings at the office including booking of meeting rooms, arranging catering etc
    • Supporting Product Managers, District Sales Managers and Representatives with their admin requirements.
    • The Learner will be part of the team co-ordinating the General Medicines Kick-Off Meeting and Cycle Meetings.
    • Spend time working within each of the BU’s in General Medicines alongside each of the admin assistants to understand each area of work.
    • Ideally after a 3-month training period we will allocate specific responsibilities to the person to manage under the guidance from the team

    Job Holder Minimum Requirements

    • Education: Matric and relevant tertiary qualification
    • Business (commercial) education tertiary degree would be advantageous
    • Strong administrative skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Willingness to learn new skills and systems

    • Team player
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Impact Investment Manager - All Gender

    Sanofi Global Health aims to improve access to care for underserved patients in 40 high-need countries mainly across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

    Sanofi Global Health builds impactful partnerships around a holistic three-pillar approach: providing affordable treatments, supporting ministries of health and NGOs in strengthening local health systems, and scaling-up inclusive businesses in the private sector.

    The 25m€ Sanofi Impact investment fund, announced in July 2022, aims to support the scale-up of a portfolio of impactful care delivery ventures, through financing and technical assistance, with a specific focus on non-communicable diseases. The target portfolio could include pharmacy networks that offer reliable, accessible, and affordable medicine (and beyond), community-based models that provide a full range of services from diagnosis to care monitoring in last mile areas, or risk prevention models including micro-insurance or savings offerings.

    The Impact Investment Manager will be provided the unique opportunity to contribute to improving the lives of underserved populations, increasing access to health in the most vulnerable countries through the development and scale-up of innovative and inclusive healthcare models.

    Main Responsibilities

    The Impact Investment Manager will identify and co-develop new investment opportunities, execute transactions, and actively manage portfolio ventures of the Sanofi Global Health Impact Investment Fund.

    Evaluating and developing new investment opportunities

    • Building an effective network in the healthcare ventures business in 40 high-vulnerable countries (mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia)
    • Supporting sourcing, assessing, and selection of ventures according to Sanofi’s objectives - including mapping investment opportunities and implementing market scoping studies as relevant
    • Reviewing pipeline of ventures and shortlisting investable proposals for due diligence
    • Developing new investment opportunities with local ventures and entrepreneurs in GHU’s focus countries
    • Leading due diligences on ventures including financial valuation, modelling, business plan assessment, impact measurement and market research, up to preparing the recommendation to the Investment Committee

    Executing transactions

    • Reviewing all aspects of transaction documentation and leading the negotiation process
    • Coordinating the investment process of each new venture with Sanofi’s internal teams
    • Keeping up-to-date deal flow, deal management, and portfolio monitoring databases for the fund

    Managing investment portfolio

    • Collecting and analysing quarterly financial information and presenting information in stakeholder meetings
    • Reviewing impact targets according to the impact measurement framework developed and conducting active monitoring and evaluation of portfolio ventures
    • Actively engaging with the portfolio ventures, technical assistance stakeholders, and other organizations active in the regional business ecosystems
    • Sitting on investees’ board and supporting investees to grow their business and address key challenges
    • Preparing materials and analysis for Sanofi impact investment fund’s internal committees and reviews
    • Taking a proactive approach to identifying problems of performance and compliance at the fund level

    Strategy and Knowledge Sharing

    • Contribute to the fund’s investment strategy and the emergence of inclusive business models that have the potential to be transformative by acting as a catalyst
    • Actively participate in knowledge sharing and dissemination internally and externally, focusing on best practices and lessons learnt, striving for systemic change

    Required

    ABOUT YOU

    • 7 to 10+ years of relevant experience in early stage investing, impact investing, financial services, healthcare, management consulting, or investment banking

    Knowledge and experience in

    • Valuation, direct investing, financial modelling, and financial statement analysis and/or
    • Working in or with start-ups or growth-stage enterprises in emerging markets, ideally as an entrepreneur, manager and/or principal investor
    • Experience in emerging markets (Africa and Asia)
    • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and strong interest in healthcare-enabled solutions
    • Outstanding relationship management skills, as well as negotiation and presentation skills
    • Willingness to travel to low- and middle-income countries
    • Fluency in English
    • Strong sense of ethics and strong motivation linked to the purpose of the Global Health Unit

    Desirable

    • Domain expertise in healthcare services and/or healthcare delivery, particularly medical technology, financial inclusion, and/or innovative delivery models
    • Multi-functional skill set across finance, operations, strategy, and/or legal
    • Existing network within impact investing and/or healthcare
    • French language fluency is preferred
    • Demonstrate commitment to development or social goals through previous experience
