Duties & Responsibilities
Administration and Document Control
- Assist with the development and administration of learning material toward supporting learning interventions to ensuring compliance and quality
- Responsible for inventory management by ensuring applicable record keeping and notifications including arranging training pack, venues and stock
- Offer support and guidance to employee learners and e-learners and continuously follow up on their progress
- Assist with the compilation of relevant reports on interventions training statistics/progress and feedback from clients/stakeholders as and when required
Best Practice and Knowledge Management
- Implement best practice into strategies and learning solutions in areas of responsibility
- Ensure development and integration of cost-effective talent and learning solutions
- Participate in and contribute towards relevant network groups to ensure learning best practice thinking and thought leadership for BU
- Identify best practices across system and ensure that successful programs are shared across company
- Participate and contribute in relevant industry forums and network groups
Budget and Cost Control
- Oversee and control annual training planning and related costs for area of responsibility
- Recommend and incorporate cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters
Compliance, Governance and Assurance
- Execute necessary measures to ensure all competence training provided is aligned with National Qualifications Framework (NQF), South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) standards, company policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation
- Ensure Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) standards are maintained within training team
- Align training with national initiatives (e.g. National Skills Strategy)
- Ensure compliance to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)/MQA accreditation standards through quality management system documentation control
- Maintain and monitor relevant learning policies, systems, processes, structures and/or projects
Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management

PURPOSE:
- Develop and lead the application of data science modelling at an Integrated Operations Centre level to deliver insight-driven tactical and strategic value creation.
- Provide statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive modelling, prescriptive analytics, simulation and optimisation to discover trends, opportunities and threats.
- Design quantitative advanced analytics models that answer business questions and/or discover opportunities for improvement/optimisation at the business unit.
- Use data to support and optimise decision making, including predictive decision-making across the business value chain from the pit right through to the port.
- Ensure the availability of approved resources (skills, funding, technology, etc.) for modelling initiatives, driving change and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
- Communicate and present findings and recommendations to management and business.
- May coach junior data scientists.
