    Monocle is looking for a Finance Intern to join our internal finance team of a growing international consulting group firm. This position reports directly to the Financial Manager and the Finance Executive and Group CFO. As a Finance Intern your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

    • Manage the full invoicing process between Monocle and its clients, which may include but not limited to: -
      • Statement of work and Purchase Order Management
      • Track the accuracy of timesheets received
      • Maintain client relationship
      • Accurately invoice Monocles clients and effectively build a relationship with the client
      • Effectively communicate with Executives on on-going status between Monocle, the consultant and the client
      • Maintain the debtors collection on all invoices sent out
    • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
    • Reconciling daily bank reconciliations, posting cash book entries and receipts for the group
    • Maintaining the petty cash fund
    • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations
    • Implementing internal control systems as the group grows and evolves
    • Ad-hoc financial queries and information requests

    Additional responsibilities include, but is not limited to the following:

    • Drive consistency, accuracy and timely reporting across the group in a high paced environment
    • Engagement and communication with Executives at all levels
    • Well-organized and energetic and can work well in a team

    The successful candidate must:

    • Must be a recent graduate with a Bachelors degree in Accounting
    • Working towards a CIMA/ACCA or equivalent post degree qualification
    • Have strong (Advanced) Microsoft Excel skills
    • Analytical, attention to detail, performance driven with a passion to succeed and grow
    • Excellent communication skills

    Monocle is looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a management consultant at Manager level. As a Manager at Monocle your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

    • Taking on a senior role on Monocles consulting engagements with our clients
    • Taking responsibility for the successful delivery of projects
    • Solving complex industry specific problems
    • Mentoring analysts and consultants, including providing career guidance and support
    • Identifying opportunities to grow with existing and new clients
    • Supporting colleagues in project delivery
    • Conducting business and data analysis
    • Designing and implementing management reports and dashboards
    • Writing, reading and analysing various computer programming languages
    • Continuously developing business knowledge and technical skills in the areas in which Monocle provides consulting services

    The successful candidate must:

    • Hold a degree, with strong preference for a post graduate qualification.
    • Have five years or more relevant experience in the financial services industry.
    • Have subject matter knowledge in banking and/or insurance.
    • Have demonstrable experience in successful project delivery or completing tasks.
    • Have a proven track record in leading large team.

    In addition, the following would be advantageous:

    • Relevant consulting experience to banks and insurers.
    • Good technical skills, including experience with tools such as SQL, SAS, Python and Business Intelligence applications.
    • A professional qualification in finance and risk management, such as CFA and/or FRM.

    The ideal Monocle Manager also:

    • Is able to work in a dynamic environment where one day never looks like another.

    • Be on their way to a professional qualification in finance and risk management such as CFA and/or FRM is advantageous.
