    Depot Project Engineer (CRRC) Richards Bay

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Manages the Services Engineering activities in a Region / Country / Project

    Key accountabilities:

    • Manages Project engineering resources.
    • Creates the engineering strategy.
    • Produces the technical development plan and the engineering work breakdown.
    • Monitors progress of engineering studies and Q,C,D achievements.
    • Supports the implementation and update of engineering risks mitigation plan.
    • Maintains and develops engineering skills and competencies (leveraging with WCE).
    • Collaborate with Services Engineering and Platforms to improve Services portfolio of products and services.
    • Participates actively in the Services Engineering network.
    • Owns the Configuration and Design Change Management and Engineering Management Processes.
    • Manages the technical performances of the systems and provide REX to relevant Services Platform.
    • Supports cost reduction actions, with Sourcing and Industrial.
    • Detects, defines and implements the modifications of the maintained products to improve the reliability and serviceability, in order to reduce project costs and improve the performances of the systems.
    • Proposes innovative solutions and develops and implements R&D programs and new technologies in the maintenance project.
    • Supports the Product Safety management system ensuring safety risks are mitigated in a timely manner.
    • Manages Obsolescence Plan.
    • Captures and ensures ownership of regulations and standards to be applied.
    • Interfaces with the stakeholders in the Certification processes.
    • Is responsible for QCD targets on the department.

    Performance measurements:

    • OTD, QCD, PMC, Project reliability / availability / cost targets

    Educational Requirements

    Mandatory:

    • University degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

    Experience 

    Mandatory:

    • 3-5 years of experience in Railways system/Application engineering
    • Knowledge of rolling stock equipment
    • Knowledge of rolling stock maintenance
    • Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office, SAP, BI/BO

    Material Planner - CRRC - Temporary (13 months)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

    • To Manage his/her Supplier's portfolio (Internal and/or External suppliers) for ensuring goods delivery at right time and place based on Alstom needs.
    • Express delivery needs to suppliers and animate the Supplier's delivery performances.   
    • Drive action plan for performance improvement & contribute for risk management. 

    POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION  

    MAIN OFFICE LOCATION:  

    • Located in Nigel (Ekurhuleni) at the production site. 

    MAIN NETWORK:  

    External Suppliers  

    • Planning & Logistics Teams, Production, Sourcing, Quality, SDPM (Supplier Delivery Performance Manager) 
    • PrSCL (Project Supply Chain Leader) / PrIdM (Project Industrialization Manager), Engineering & Industrialization 
    • Finance, Material Planning & SRM Central Team and Internal Suppliers (other Alstom Sites) 

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 

    MISSIONS 

    • Express delivery needs to Suppliers 
    • Follow up deliveries and ensure the availability of goods for Alstom projects 
    • Monitor Supplier's performances KPI's 
    • Participate/lead to Supplier's performances improvement (animation) 
    • Contribute with SC inputs for supplier selection 

    TASKS 

    • Internal suppliers: Manage Purchase Requisition flow up to Material Planning documents 
    • External suppliers: Follow up with Sourcing the Purchase Requisition level maturity for launching Material Planning documents 
    • Ensure and update the accuracy of material planning master data (in compliance with stock and logistic constraints) 
    • Create the Material Planning documents (Call-off, Schedule Agreement) & respective Source List 
    • Communicate the Material Planning documents to Suppliers and follow Suppliers confirmation 
    • Analyze Suppliers confirmations vs. Alstom needs and evaluate the risk/impact anticipation on production/projects 
    • Identify priorities associated with risk/impact anticipation and set up recovery actions 
    • Maintain a routine with Suppliers in order to check the status of deliveries 
    • Analyze and manage MRP exception messages and anticipate supply problems (backlogs, shortages, no demand…). 
    • Maintain delivery dates in ERP 
    • Track missing parts until stock availability 
    • Ensure non-conformities replacement 
    • Resolve Receiving issues (overstock, shortage, damage, documentation, etc.) 
    • Analyze and share deliveries performances KPI's with different stakeholders (Internal & External) 
    • Collaborate with Material Planning Management/SDPM to validate worst Suppliers and define appropriate action plan (adapted governance: LSCA, LCA, etc...) 
    •  Apply appropriate communication routine with Suppliers based on their delivery performances 
    • Drive and follow (when involved) Supplier Capacity Assessment 
    • Drive and follow (when involved) Supplier's Light Capability Assessment (LSCA)  
    • Contribute to new business risk assessments and mitigation action plan 

    GENERAL SCOPE

    EDUCATION 

    • National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain

    EXPERIENCE 

    • Excellent communication. 
    • 5 years material/production planning experience.  
    • Advanced knowledge of Supply chain processes especially in warehouse & material flows 
    • Sound material/production planning experience in an industrial/manufacturing. 
    • Strong industrial background, with experience in Management: Production/ Supply Chain/ Quality/ Industrialization/ Methods Engineering. 
    • Experience in Supplier relationship and management (Qualification of suppliers, Project development, Serial Life Management, Problem Solving). 
    • Experience in Automotive, Aeronautics or Rail companies desirable, with exposure to manufacturing.

    Field Engineer CRRC (Koedoespoort)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Provides field engineering leadership, assist and support to projects & PI team for investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of technical/quality issues

    MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

    Key accountabilities:

    • Support any technical activity on Alstom products during PI period as well as Commissioning, Warranty (and Validation & Certification phase if applicable)
    • Diagnoses cause of malfunction/failure of operational equipment and recommends preventative and corrective actions
    • Define troubleshooting methodology
    • Provides technical guidance and supports technicians in troubleshooting and repairs
    • Provides feedback on technical documentation deficiencies.
    • Advises PI management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product enhancements
    • Drive Kx (8D) issues with Quality and internal & external Suppliers as support of Project Product Introduction Manager (PrPIM)
    • Ensure completeness and quality of input to Failure Management data base for RAMS exploitation
    • Drive Reliability Growth through failure/event investigation and reliability forecast implementation (with RAMS support).
    • Drive and support containment to avoid reoccurrence of failures
    • Supports as-maintained Alstom product configuration control and relevant documentation management
    • Support technical reviews with internal and external Suppliers, partners, customers, authorities
    • Ensure & facilitate information flow within the PI Customer Site, PI functions and project teams.
    • Provides status and transparence on PI activities, key technical issues, to PrPIM.
    • Apply EHS requirements on site with the support of EHS team representatives
    • Drive technical Return of Experience/reporting/feedback as support of PrPIM
