    Manager: Data Analytics (Integration & Innovation BU)

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Support the implementation of the business unit balance score card
    • (BU BSC) on the development and execution of fraud data analytic projects.

    Product Management

    • Conduct data analytic assignments
    • Develop data analytics models
    • Ensure that the data analytics models are well developed, tested, and implemented
    • Ensure that the integrity and dependability of data for analytical purposes are processed, cleansed and verified
    • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets
    • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
    • Work directly with audit business units managers and senior managers to gather their data analytics requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
    • Using existing and new data sources to extract new information and convey that information according to the audience to the data
    • Promote and manage sound internal controls within the Business Unit

    Skills, Experience & Education

    Formal Education

    • Minimum qualification of B Com or BSC degree in information systems, Informatics,

    • National Diploma or BTech degree in Financial Information Systems

    The following will be an added advantage:

    End-User Support Engineer X2

     

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Support the implementation of the centre Balance Score Card (BSC) initiatives.

    Product Management

    Desktop Support

    • Initial setup of desktop computers with application software of the AGSA.
    • Configure desktop computers on the AGSA network for email access and printing capabilities. Create images of different desktop platforms for ease of future installations (Windows, macOS, etc.).
    • Maintain images of desktops with all updated AGSA software as and required.
    • Provide post-implementation support for desktop computers in response to Service Desk calls:
    • Reinstallation of software on desktop computers
    • Troubleshoot and resolve faults. Repairs where applicable
    • Redirect calls to vendor according to contract SLA agreements

    Notebook support

    • Initial setup of notebook computers with application software of the AGSA.
    • Setup of notebook computers on AGSA network for users to access AG’s network to be able to receive email and do printing.

    • Troubleshoot and repair all AGSA tablets. 3rd Party call management until resolution

    • Update of images for notebooks and desktops and distribute to support companies and Teammate support staff in regions.

    • Develop and maintain scripts for automating deployment, updates, and troubleshooting for end-user devices, ensuring operational efficiency.
    • Support and manage virtual desktop infrastructure and cloud-based management tools like Microsoft Intune for provisioning, configuring, and managing end-user devices.

    Other ICT support

    • Provide ICT support during AGSA events such as conferences, inductions, and PeopleSoft training.
    • Provide support with Security and Data Voice when required.
    • Participating in disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing, ensuring rapid recovery of end-user devices in the event of a failure.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and pursue relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Apple, CompTIA) to ensure proficiency with the latest end-user technologies.
    • Research support software and hardware as determined by ICT support consultant.
    • Manage and monitor endpoint security using tools like Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), ensuring compliance with Zero Trust Architecture and AGSA security protocols.
    • Perform tasks as part of a project team according to the project schedules
    • Provide support for collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

    Technical Manager - Data Management and Analysis

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Support the development of data analytics related products to advance the data collection,quality,and analysis and ensure alignment with the AGSA CultureShift 2030 Strategy. Provide support in the implementation of the business unit (BU) balance score card (BSC).

    Product Management

    Development of value-add analytics:

    •  Provide support in developing leading and innovative solutions, tools and practices in data quality,analysis and visualisation.
    • Support various products including the AGSA General and special Reports by extracting, manipulating, analysing and transforming structured and unstructured audit data using tools such as Excel,Power BI, MySQL,etc. therebyproviding meaningful insights from available data.
    •  Constantly monitor the integrity and quality of data and processes to identify deficiencies and facilitate improvement.
    •  In-depth analysis of the annual audit outcomes of the three spheres of government and provide support with the drafting of guidance on the general report (GR) content and compilation process.
    •  Preparing audit outcomes presentation slides for stakeholder briefings to public sector role-players and provide support to the preparers during the GR or special report (SR) compilation process.
    •  Perform verification of the accuracy, completeness and consistency of audit outcomes-related data included in the GRs and/or SRs.
    • Design efficient, appropriate data collection methods, tools and templates for use by reporting team and preparers.
    •  Timeously identify and resolve data anomalies and inconsistencies.
    •  Liaise with subject matter experts and other contributors to the GR to ensure external stakeholders’ information needs are met in presentations and GRs.

    • Experience in the public sector or auditing of the public sector will be an advantage.

    Senior Manager

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Strategic Function

    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of customised business applications to support the AGSA's business operations.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to DAG, understanding challenges and provide recommendations.
    • Manages all strategic initiatives and deliverables of the DAGs office.
    • Provides decision-support to the DAG and advises where applicable on strategic matters relating to the DAG organisational strategic commitments.

    Strategic Support

    • Conceptualises, develops and implements initiatives in the DAG Office and provides a project management function for key strategic audit deliverables.
    • Develops project charters to govern the execution, management, monitoring, and evaluation of the strategic projects in the DAG’s office along with those of relevant cross-functional initiatives led by the DAG.
    • Identifies improvement opportunities and areas of risk which needs to be addressed based on stakeholder engagements.
    • Provides support to the DAG with actions based on outcomes of internal and external engagements and track progress thereof.

    Audit Quality Management Specialist

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Assist with the development and implementation of quality management policies and procedures in the operations of the AGSA to ensure compliance with the relevant audit standards
    • Update and maintain the QM monitoring policy and related procedures in accordance with relevant changes in International Standards on Auditing and AGSA policie
    • Participate in the team planning and scoping of risk-based inspections
    • Review ongoing monitoring of the quality management process including post –issuance monitoring  reviews
    • Inspecting planned completed audit engagements and firms’ quality management policies and procedures; discussing findings; consulting and preparing high-quality reports in a timely manner
    • Perform monitoring of quality management (QM) compliance in accordance with the monitoring requirements of the International Standards on Quality Management (ISQM) and specific requirements as determined by the AGSA
    •  The monitoring will be performed annually on two levels, namely:
    • System of quality management
    • Completed audit engagements (both those performed by AGSA staff and CWC audits)
    • Perform any other monitoring activities as determined by the QM senior management team 
    • Provide quality related technical advice and guidance to top management and auditors in respect of engagement performance and associated processes
    • Work closely with the Strategic Audit Projects Business Unit in enhancing and maintaining the technical quality of the current engagement quality reviewers (EQRs) database to support the quality of allocations of engagement quality reviewers by the audit business units, and Provide ongoing and closer support to engagement quality reviewers on consistency, risks and quality issues that need to be addressed during engagement quality review process

    Other Quality Management Initiatives:

    • Post monitoring activities such as quality awareness sessions to the different audit business units etc.
    • Perform quality reviews on the General Report for PFMA and MFMA cycles and special reports. Review of annual delegations of audit engagements where applicable
    • Evaluation of the work performed by Engagement quality reviewers
    • Perform reviews or provide inputs on Category 2 complaints against the AGSA where applicable.
