    Grv Clerk (Bloemfontein)

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • A GRV Clerk (Goods Receiving Voucher Clerk) is responsible for accurately processing and recording goods received into the warehouse. This includes verifying deliveries against purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies, and maintaining up-to-date documentation to ensure accurate inventory records.

    Requirements
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Receive Proof of Delivery (POD) book and invoices from supplier trucks.
    • Inspect goods for accuracy (quantity, weight, condition) and sign the POD after verification.
    • Note any shortages or oversupply for supplier follow-up.
    • Perform a blind check against the supplier’s invoice and request a Supervisor double-check if variances are found.
    • Log supplier delivery in the Truck Register (Excel).
    • Record and maintain documentation, including invoices, delivery notes, PODs, and GRV documents.
    • Sign off and return any pallets to the supplier.
    • Match invoices to Purchase Orders (POs) on the system.
    • Raise claims for shortages, damages, oversupply, or price differences according to internal procedures.
    •  Complete the full GRV process
    • Capture received stock in the system
    • Confirm selling price with Supervisor and update accordingly
    •  Assist with stock control and participate in periodic stocktakes.
    • Stay informed on stock items and trading terms with new suppliers.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • Proven experience of at least 1 years in similar positions, with a preference for experience within the FMCG Retail industry.
    • Some knowledge of a Value Chain environment will be advantageous.

    Junior Buyer (Bellville )

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The purpose of the Junior Buyer is to provide support to the Category Buyer in maintaining a sustainable base of strategic suppliers to ensure we are committed to Econofoods participation in the Grocery category.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Strategic support to the category buyer in the selection, management, communications, and ongoing relationship management of suppliers within the GROCERIES CATEGORY.
    • Support structure to Category Buyer to ensure we manage and develop a national supply base of suppliers meeting specified criteria
    • Assist in the Management of GP expectations in accordance with budgets
    • Assist in the management the Category within the Stock Days Governance Manual
    • Maintaining the Private label Brand Identity, nationally with assistance of the Marketing department teams, ensuring their compliance & execution.
    • Ensure the merchandising flows by format and by Cluster are executed and aligned to Category buyers guidance
    • Maintain the category Data Integrity in accordance to the Hierarchy

    OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Weekly business health checks to be done and sent to category buyer
    • Assist in the reporting for supplier management to be ongoing with strategic quarterly reviews done with larger suppliers
    • Weekly/Daily communication with suppliers with regards to rejections / complaints
    • Manage supply base on DIFOT Reports – reports to be run and presented to category buyer
    • Accountable for product quality, availability and inbound service levels
    • Manage the product availability with suppliers during promotional periods
    • Accountable for achieving set growth targets.
    • Accountable for Achieving set GP% Targets
    • Drive the direction on category flows & Planograms Implementation into the Econofoods Retail stores.
    • Weekly update meetings with Planning and Buying Teams.
    • Accurate stock planning particularly relevant during promotional and peak periods.
    • Assist the category buyer on ordering patterns/co-loading/warehousing and Buying optimization working alongside the Supply Chain Manager and department buyers and planners.

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field (advantageous).
    • Proven 2+ years of experience in an internship or entry-level experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field.
    • Preference will be given for store operations, category knowledge, buying, and/or category management will be an advantage.
    • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to identify challenges and develop practical solutions to address them.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

    Business Demand Planner (Bellville )

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The purpose of the Business Demand Planner is to manage the stock quality and quantity in support of the category and supply chain strategy through effective planning and forecasting of sales, cost of sales, purchases, and stock, thereby ensuring continued sales and profit growth whilst optimizing working capital.

    Requirements

    • Supplier/customer management
    • Stock Management of stock days ageing stock, over stock and short deliveries

    OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Plans ordering and delivery cycles to ensure stock level, working capital and DC space utilization are optimized.
    • Drives accurate replenishment ordering through accurate demand forecasting.
    • Manages direct and tranship demand forecasts
    • Provides category buyers with historical performance and forecast information on promotional items
    • Provides category buyers with historical performance and forecast information for deal buy-in and promotion items and agrees these forecasts with Buyer before implementing.
    • Tracks in-stock and overstock performance ensuring forecast accuracy
    • Promotion Performance (actual vs planned) – to be reviewed - buyers function
    • Drives ordering process per supplier/category to ensure efficiency allowances are maximized.
    • Category stock level performance stock turn & days forward cover actual vs budget/target. -team effort
    • In-stock performance for warehouse & retail
    • Supplier Fill-rate and delivery performance.  Communicate weekly/monthly issues concerns through to buyers
    • Execute buy in order qty input on all special buy-in orders to given by the buyer to ensure profitability and in-stock. (buy-in ahead of price increase, production issues, supplier operational closures).
    • Reviews store requests for significant stock qty requests – to be signed off by Demand planning manager
    • Stock Levels in line with Days forward cover and stock turn – min max governance
    • Making use of the stock pulse system to effectively manage on hand accuracy
    • Effective, timeous, communication to the business regarding stock challenges as per SOP set out by Group Demand Planning Manager.
    • Constant communication between Business Demand Planners and Retail Demand Planners regarding stock challenges

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
    • Proven 3+ years of experience in category planning, demand planning, inventory management, or a similar role in retail or FMCG.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with inventory management or ERP systems.
    • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to identify challenges and develop practical solutions to address them.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
