Qualifications

• To be considered you will need to have the following qualifications and experience, as a minimum:
• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or equivalent in related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Minimum of 5 years proven work experience in employee benefits management, preferably in mining environment.
• Experience in change management processes i.e. automation of manual transactions will be an added advantage.

Or

• Formal post matric qualification from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Minimum 10 years proven work of experience in employee benefits management, preferably in mining environment.

Job description
Qualifications

• NQF level 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) with English literacy

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years’ underground experience:
• Prior Survey experience in Narrow Vein Stoping will be advantageous

Key performance areas

• As our Survey Assistant some of your responsibilities will include but not limited to: 
•  Carries the survey tripod and the bag with the drill machine
•  Carries the bag with the drill machine battery, hammer as well as the 60m and 30m tapes, survey pegs and spads
•  Helps the Surveyor to set up the tripod, survey instrument and carries the survey instrument and tripod from one set up to the other
•  Hang the target on the back sight, marking off new directions and install survey pegs
•  Ensure that the equipment is kept clean, tidy, in good condition and stored correctly
•  Must be able to operate surface and underground mine vehicles when required
•  Install temporary, permanent survey or ground control points into the ground on surface
•  Comply with Survey policies and procedures for the mine

Additional requirements

• Knowledge of underground mining methods
• Must be able to work at heights and not be afraid of heights
• Valid drivers license
• Medical Certificate of Fitness
