    Electrician

    Job Description

    The role is responsible for ensuring smooth running of the Mining operation within area of responsibility, Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

    • Responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment and machines in order to ensure the availability thereof
    • Responsible for engineering technical compliance
    • Adhering to all safety and health standards
    • Promoting and maintaining good housekeeping within area of responsibility
    • The incumbent will be required to work shifts, standbys
    • Working overtime when required/ standby and shift
    • Adhering to the Thungela Code of Conduct
    • Ensuring application of Thungela Coal Operational and Engineering Codes of Practices, Policies and Procedures

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12/ Equivalent
    • Electrical Trade Certificate (RED SEAL)

    Experience & Knowledge

    • At least 5 years’ post-trade experience as an Electrician, preferably in an OC environment
    • Dragline or winder experience is compulsory
    • The experience in MG-Set and MV switching
    • Be able to do a fault finding from 24V to 22kV

    Property Rights Specialist

    Job Description

    • As the Property Rights Specialist in Thungela Resources you will drive compliance required to secure and maintain Property Rights, this will include liaising with operations and project teams (SIB and Capital projects) to gather information for application purposes when necessary as well as facilitating and coordinating municipal and regional site visits for rezoning applications.

    More of your responsibilities will include:

    • Ensuring legal documentation for rezoning of property is signed by the external and internal relevant stakeholders and review rezoning, SPLUMA, rates clearance applications, conveyancer certificates etc.
    • Determining the eligibility of new tenants (financial, criminal check), determine rates and hectares and applicable rental amount
    • Taking responsibility for lease and relationship management with existing tenants and private landowners in line with operational requirements as well as ensuring lease agreements are inline with the operational requirements
    • Assist in negotiating access with tenants and private landowners for project and operational purposes
    • Monitoring tenant payments in line with the contractual agreements as well as conducting site visits to monitor compliance to lease terms of the contract
    • Maintaining the tenants’ complaints register and resolve complaints as well as assisting in mediating grievances between tenants and the community and ensuring conflict resolution
    • Developing and maintaining a core land strategy schedule and maps in respect of rehabilitation, renewable and sustainable and community projects
    • Developing and maintaining a servitude schedule for existing servitudes (owned and not owned) and assess operational requirements against schedule as well as assessing the feasibility of new servitude requests
    • Generating a servitude map to generate a land survey general diagram Responsible for compilation and maintenance of master servitude, lease, land claims, rezoning, competing applications, surface etc. maps and the schedules thereof
    • Reviewing and drafting annual lease agreements (property descriptions, maps, hectares etc.) of third-party leases
    • Review and provide input into mining right supporting documentation in collaboration with operations and projects teams from an environmental perspective and applications such as Section 102’s. Review overlapping or adjacent interests to mitigate risks to the company including the impact of competing applications.
    • Plotting and verifying coordinates and property descriptions pertaining to appeals & objections and notice documents (eg section 10 Notice, bid documents etc)
    • Managing and maintaining property schedule to ensure an updated schedule of Thungela- owned properties and ensure that they are aligned with the mineral right properties
    • General administration relating to the property portfolio

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in law, Environmental Science, Construction studies or related discipline (NQF 7)
    • Conveyancer or Notary qualification (advantage)
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Property Management (advantage)

    Experience

    • Minimum of 6 years’ property related experience within a mining environment
