    Commercial Finance Business Partner

    JOB PURPOSE

This role plays a key role in the company’s corporate management accounting systems (incl governance and controls, budgeting, planning & reporting and management of business performance.)

    WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

    • Position Overview: The Commercial Business Partner will play a critical role in supporting and partnering the Business Group by providing financial insights, reporting, and analysis to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership:

    • Demonstrate visible leadership in Finance and engage in industry forums to enhance the organization's reputation.
    • Lead teams in delivering people agenda activities, including mentoring, recruiting, and talent management.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Actively involved in budgeting process, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate and realistic budgets.
    • Monitor and update forecasts based on actual performance and market conditions

    Performance Reporting:

    • Accountable for internal validation and sign-off your respective Category Forecast.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to senior management.
    • Identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements

    Business Partnering:

    • Provide financial decision support to the Business Group leadership teams.
    • Prepare and conduct financial analysis and Return on Investment for new product launches, marketing campaigns, and other business initiatives . 

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Lead the digital, simplification and process improvement initiatives.

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Professional qualification in accountancy – CA or CIMA (or other finance professional qualification) preferably or nearing completion of professional qualification.
    • Strong analytical capabilities with bias to drive action
    • Ability to manage upwards
    • Ability to steer conversations and influence
    • Understanding or ability to quickly grasp financial principles in the end-to-end,identify and drive relevant value-creating choices and decisions
    • Ability to handle and work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines

    Skills

    • Proficiency in financial forecasting and reporting tools.
    • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Leadership skills – able to lead, motivate, inspire
    • Strong communication and influencing skills
    • Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner and clearly explain Finance concepts to non-Finance stakeholders.
    • Strong Analytical skills and ability to communicate analytical findings both verbally (in meetings) and in written form (through formal presentations)
    • Strong initiative and ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to work under pressure and late hour over the month end reporting period
    • SAP, GCUT, Ifinance experience

    GHW Operations Lead-SnA and EWA

The GHW (Global Health and Wellbeing) function is crucial in ensuring the health protection and promotion of employees. Within Sub Saharan Africa Unilever provides a hybrid model of health services, with front line care being delivered by country based outsourced partners. The role of the GHW Operations Lead is to ensure the best quality of service delivery aligned with Unilever standards and protocols, to act as a key resource between Unilever stakeholders and service providers, and to support the success of suppliers in meeting the regional requirements in delivery of health and wellbeing.   

    WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

    • Supplier Management:
    • Ensure suppliers meet delivery timelines, quality standards, and key performance indicators to ensure delivery against objectives.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Ensuring service are delivered with a business partner mindset. Identify potential service delivery and develop mitigation strategies to ensure service continuity.
    • Track and analyse supplier performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization
    • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to ensure alignment on objectives, priorities, and strategies. Facilitate effective communication and coordination to achieve business goals supported by data and outcomes. Active member of HR and safety committees.
    • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
    • Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with company policies, standards, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
    • Budget Oversight: Manage and oversee the regional operations budget, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to financial targets. Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives where applicable.

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Educated to bachelor’s degree level.
    • Minimum 3-5 years OH Management and service experience.
    • Computer Literacy inc. MS Office Suite.
    • English language speaker.
    • Operations management experience.
    • Proven experience in managing OH/ Health service provision and suppliers in delivering OH projects and services.
    • Knowledge of supplier management best practice.
