    Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Coordinator - VKB Human Capital, Reitz

    Job Description

    • The ideal team player will be responsible for supporting the DEI&B Executive, Human Capital/EE Managers, DEI&B Committees, Employee Resource Groups (ERG’s) in the planning, implementation and administration of projects and initiatives that promote inclusion, diversity, equity, and belonging across the VKB Group.

     Requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF Equivalent.
    • A degree/Diploma in Human Resources, Psychology, Administration, Social Sciences or a related qualification - to enable effective contributions to VKB’s DEI&B’s 
    • Minimum of three years of progressive, related work experience.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Passionate about connecting with and learning from diverse communities.
    • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and MS Office Skills.
    • Humility and an attitude of service.
    • Must be a team player.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to advocate and influence change.
    • Preference will be given to candidates from previously disadvantaged under-represented groups who meet the inherent requirements of the role.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Provide support to the DEI&B Executive in the execution of the portfolio’s duties. 
    • This includes full administrative support to the Executive as well as the  EE/HC Managers as it relates to:
    • Developing meeting agendas, providing follow-up, tracking action items and drafting meeting minutes.
    • Providing support to the DEI&B committee and ERG’s as required.
    • Supporting new projects and initiatives, including developing documentation, presentations and drafting/assisting with content development for information and communication.
    • Organising events/workshops.
    • Extracting data for DEI&B Reports and compiling Reports.
    • Tracking progress, milestones and supporting the implementation of DEI&B plans across VKB’s member companies.

    • Knowledge of DEI principles: A strong understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion principles, including cultural competency, intersectionality, and unconscious bias.
    • Communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, including employees, leaders, and external stakeholders. This includes strong listening skills, public speaking skills, and the ability to facilitate difficult conversations.
    • Analytical skills: The ability to analyze data related to diversity, equity and inclusion, and draw conclusions that can inform decision-making and drive positive change.
    • Problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and address complex issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, and develop creative solutions to these challenges.
    • Relationship building: The ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including employees, leaders, and external partners.
    • Project management: The ability to identify and address complex issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, and develop creative solutions to these challenges.
    • Flexibility and adaptability: The ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
    • Cultural awareness: The ability to navigate cultural differences and work effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
    • Empathy and emotional intelligence: The ability to understand and empathize with the experiences of others, and to navigate difficult conversations and situations with emotional intelligence and compassion.
