    Managing Director - VKB Fuels (Pty) Ltd, Head Office Reitz

    About the Role:

    • The suitable candidate will demonstrate excellent knowledge, skills and experience in the following key performance areas to manage the profitability of VKB Fuels (Pty) Ltd:

    To ensure that the financial objectives of VKB Fuels are achieved by:

    • Growth of VKB Fuels in terms of market share and profitability.
    • Effective communication and revision of VKB Fuels’ financial objectives

     Strategic direction:

    • Determine short- and long-term strategic goals and priorities of VKB Fuels
    • Formulation and implementation of the marketing strategy of VKB Fuels
    • Optimal management and utilization of the assets
    • Analysis of VKB Fuels ‘policies, processes and practices to identify where risks exist and where additional measures are required

    Strategic engagement with stakeholders:

    • Continuous liaison with the Board, Executive Management, shareholders, business chambers, government institutions, suppliers and members of management to establish and nurture long-term relationships and strengthen the identity of VKB Fuels within the VKB Group as well as independently.
    • Ongoing support and advice to management teams, shareholders, internal and external clients to create a healthy work environment where the full potential of employees are utilized and developed.
    • Represent VKB Fuels on public forums and at meetings where necessary
    • Build synergy with other divisions within the VKB Group

    Operational involvement and direction:

    • Maintain & develop strong relationships with different departments within their company to ensure smooth operation of the different sites
    • Play the lead role in advising around pricing of products within the retail stores of the fuel stations
    • Ensure correct procedures are followed and legal documents are obtained when opening new branches/ renewing current contracts
    • Monitor performance of VKB Fuels using key metrics and prepare reports for relevant stakeholders
    • Continuous forecasting and project revisions as required to mitigate possible risks
    • Build effective working relationships with clients and suppliers to support alignment and better understanding of their perspectives. Use that knowledge and relationships to strengthen VKB Fuels’ financial position

    Requirements and Skills:

    • Relevant tertiary/postgraduate qualification(s) in Marketing/ Business Management etc.

    At least 10 years Executive Management experience in the following areas:

    • General Management of the whole business cycle within a fuel station with a retail store
    • Proven experience in the alignment of strategic-, operational- and financial goals
    • Excellent proven financial skills
    • Insight and vision in the fuel industry in South Africa
    • Strong focus on compliance and regulatory frameworks within the fuel industry in South Africa
    • Effective conflict management skills
    • Comprehensive networking, communication and negotiation skills
    • Steadfast character with regard to ethical values, consistency and integrity
    • Strong leadership- and change management skills
    • Team player and protect and live out VKB’s unique and healthy culture at all times
    • Ability to identify issues and areas for improvement through analysis
    • Strong commercial acumen and business understanding
    • Ability to manage both internal and customer relationships
    • Advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities

    Assistant Accountant - VKB Milling, Mokopane

    Job Description

    • The ideal team player will be responsible for the checking, processing, and corrections of transactions on the accounting system of VKB Milling.

    Requirements

    • Relevant BCom degree with Accountancy
    • Completed Articles (SAIPA/ SAICA)
    • Applicable experience in a fast-moving operational environment
    • Experience in a processing environment will be advantageous
    • Excellent computer skills and the ability to work with Excel on an advanced level.
    • Experience on Microsoft Navision or Business Central will serve as recommendation

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Allocation of debtor and creditor accounts
    • Approval of purchase and sales orders within mandate
    • Preparation of processing of payments and receipts on a continuous basis
    • Processing bank account transactions
    • Daily bank and cash reconciliations to the Financial manager
    • Approval of vendor reconciliations
    • Reconciliation of control accounts
    • Maintaining pre-approved pricing
    • Preparing month-end journals and reconciliation to be approved by the Financial Manager.
    • Building and maintaining a monthly Audit-file for submission to the Financial Manager
    • Approval of subordinate's reconciliations and ensure final controls are in place
    • Basic reporting and analysis
