    Locum Doctor- Acute Rehabilitation Centre

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Group is committed to creating places of healing for their communities, focused on attracting the best expertise and dedicated to building a steadfast, devoted team. A vacancy exists for a Rehab Doctor  within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Ethekwini Hospital & Heart Centre. This successful candidate will report to Practice Manager/ Hospital Manager

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Clinical management – day-to-day clinical management of all rehabilitation inpatients
    • Provide holistic clinical services at the rehabilitation unit to in-patients of the rehabilitation unit
    • After-hour telephonic on-call support and on-site emergency care.
    • Stakeholder management – develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the development and maintenance of a leading acute rehabilitation service.
    • Promote and maintain sound and productive relationships with referring specialists, the EHHC leadership team, the EHHC specialist community and stakeholders in the field of Rehabilitation.
    • Promote and maintain sound and productive relationships with the entire rehabilitation team
    • Participation in family meetings and weekly team meetings
    • Participating in compiling patient reports to funders and referring doctors.
    • Assist with the marketing of the business and the positioning of the unit as a center for excellence
    • Compliance to company policies and formulary and anti-microbial stewardship programmes.
    • Monitor and continuously improve patient, referral specialist feedback
    • Represent the image of the company at a professional level

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • At least 3 years experience as a Medical Practitioner.
    • An MBChB and full HPCSA registration.
    • Professional indemnity cover.
    • Previous experience in an interdisciplinary team setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
    • Exposure to inpatient treatment, high care, ICU, and casualty
    • ACLS certificate advantageous

    • Patient and family-centered approach.
    • Have strong communication skills and an ability to deal with a diverse range of patients, families and fellow team members.
    • An interest in working closely with an interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and administrators.
    • Prepared to assume responsibility for the patients allocated to you, deal with some level of uncertainty, but know when to consult and liaise with other team members, referring doctors, and with consultants.
    • Have a strong clinical knowledge and skill base, and a hunger to learn more and be coached.
    • Be literate in MS Windows and MS Office.

    Enrolled Nurse

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and Unit Manager. ​

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Ensure that all documentation is maintained timeously and accurately, reflecting patient care ​
    • Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free from medico-legal hazards​
    • Contribute to the holistic care of patients​
    • Participate in ward/unit’s quality improvement programme​
    • Attend handover of report at shift commencement ​
    • Effective communication with patients’ regarding their care​
    • Promotion of patient overall health and wellbeing ​
    • Refer all complaints from patients and doctors to sister-in-charge of the unit​
    • Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by supervisors and ensure timeous completion of all delegated tasks​

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse ​
    • Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse and all applicable health care legislation​
    • Relevant experience in the nursing discipline would be an advantage​
    • Computer Literacy ​
    • Flexible in working hours/Shifts ​

    Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will be responsible for direct or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse / Enrolled Nurse

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Practice patient care according to Lenmed Standard operating Procedures (SOP’s) and assume responsibility and accountability for these activities under direct supervision of your senior ​
    • Carry out all unit related duties as assigned by Supervisors​
    • Promote and maintain good public relations with all stakeholders​
    • Attend handover sessions and unit meetings ​
    • Refer any queries to the supervisor / shift leader​
    • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act)​
    • Report Faulty equipment

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary ​
    • Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary and all applicable Health Care Legislations.​
    • Basic Life Support Course by an accredited Service provider​

    HPH Case Manager

    Main Focus Areas

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the liaison between the patient and medical aids in order to secure payment for the hospital.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Liaise network of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that managed care of patients is maintained
    • Monitor and control costs for Managed Care Organization patients
    • Confirm length of stay for all Managed Care Organizations patients
    • Accompany Managed Care Organization Case Managers on ward rounds in the hospital
    • Assist with final authorization of Managed Care patient files
    • Ensure correct coding for all Managed Care Organization patients
    • Supply all details regarding patients history to Clinical partners

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Registered or Enrolled Nursing qualification with ICU / HC experience
    • Case Management experience 3 years and above
    • Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding
    • ICD 10 and CPT coding certificate will be an added advantage
    • Advanced Computer skills
    • Knowledge of Case Management, Managed Care policies

    SPH Handyman

    Main Focus Areas

    • The facilities assistant is responsible for general repairs, maintenance and cleaning of hospital property.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Performing unsupervised basic maintenance of Hospital facilities and equipment.
    • Unsupervised tasks will include (but not limited to ) :
    • Repairs, maintenance of refrigeration, air-conditioning

    Human Resources Assistant - HR Department

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Human Resources Assistant is required to perform a full generalist human resources function. This includes industrial relations, recruitment and selection, training, counseling, submission of payroll inputs and administration processes.     Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Matric Essential
    • A three-year Human Resources Diploma is Essential
    • Payroll experience Preferable
    • Healthcare HR Experience Preferable
    • Sage & KRONOS Experience Advantageous
    • Intermediate Computer Literacy essential
    • A good working knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act & Labor Relations Act Preferable
    • Flexibility in working overtime
