Description

• Conduct and coordinate safety meetings.
• Conduct underground safety inspections and ensure that necessary actions are taken as per audit findings until resolved.
• Conducts planned task observations (PTOs) and Safe Behavioural Observations (SBOs) and Risk Assessments as per plan.
• Conduct accidents and incidents investigations and implement necessary measures to avoid re-occurrence.
• Ensure compliance to SHE standards, legislations, codes of practice an targets.
• Communication and implementation of SHE related interventions and campaigns withing the assigned section as per plan.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders regarding safety matters including safety representatives, union representations, team members etc.
• Monthly production plans to be reviewed and maintained.
• Effective management of resources and logistics.
• Achieve production efficiencies
• Reporting on daily section performance.
• Adhere to cost constraints and maintain cost expenditure.
• Understanding budget limitations.

Requirements

• NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 Certificate)
• Metalliferous Mining Blasting Certificate
• Shift Supervisor certificate of competence will be advantageous
• Minimum Three (3) years experience as a miner (inclusive of excellent safety and production results)
• Acting exposure as a Shiftboss will be advantageous
• Code 8 Drivers License
• Valid certificate of physical fitness

Description

• Participate in required SHE meetings, interventions and campaigns.

• Reporting of all incidents and/or near miss incidents to the relevant parties.
• Conduct risk assessments.
• Conduct Safe Behavioural Observations and Planned Task Observation.
• Conducts daily re-entry examinations.
• Marking off of support.
• Identifying of reef band and mark the face as per the geological reports.
• Changing up of the face and safe blasting.
• Planning and co-ordination of Mining activities in line with targets and objectives.
• Communicate the daily mining plans to the crew.
• Allocation of responsibilities to the crew and coordination of the crew.
• Conduct planning for leave cycles.

Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications will be advantageous
• Metalliferous Mining Blasting Certificate
• Minimum of 5 years of mining production experience
• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to communicate with people on different levels
• Valid Certificate of physical fitness
