    Officer Payroll - Rosebank

    Job Advert Summary    

    The Payroll Officer is responsible for the activities relating to the Company Payroll function, core system master data administration, payroll controls adherence, compliance, and governance. The role support end to end Payroll activities that includes but are not limited to all payroll calculations, personnel administration, and time processing. The Payroll Officer will act as a subject matter expert in area of responsibility that includes monthly/bi-annual/annual Employee Tax (PAYE) calculations, administration, and reconciliations.  Administrative support to General HR Activities, Employment Equity (EEA4), B-BBEE (Management Control), and Analytics may be required. The Payroll Officer reports to the Payroll Manager.

    Minimum Requirements

    • 5+ Years Payroll Experience in a Manufacturing/Mining and Unionised Environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • End to end payroll processing, accurately and timeously and according to payroll calendar deadlines,
    • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with HR team to improve payroll and HRIS processes,
    • Ensuring compliance to all statutory and legal compliance in respect to Payroll with special reference to Tax Legislation, POPI Act, BCEA, LRA and Collective Agreement,
    • Employment Tax (Essential)
    • Establish & Review of relevant policies and procedures,
    • Document all payroll related processes,
    • Implement Auditable Payroll Control to mitigate risks,
    • Assist and investigate payroll queries and feedback to employees,
    • Administering Timesheet input and ensure accurate upload of time and other input in such as leave, overtime, shift allowance calculations,
    • Administering Month end Process and Reporting,
    • Support month end processes,
    • Administer all Engagements, Terminations and Movements Processes internally and externally,
    • Administer all FNB & Standard Bank Loans and manage the application process,
    • Administer all Disability applications and other Benefit Funds and related activities, including Medical Aid application and onboarding of new employees on the payroll,
    • Monthly Statutory reconciliation and payment – SARS, UIF, SDL,
    • Manage Payroll System and drive all relevant changes, i.e UAT process,
    • Maintain Systems and updating Business with relevant legal and policy changes,
    • Administer and drive all IRP 5 related activities including submission ensuring compliance to Tax Legislation,
    • Support Annual Increase and Bonus activities and Administer Salary Adjustments,
    • Administer WCA & COID Payments and annual returns,
    • Submission of Data to South African Stats and any other regulatory body,
    • Submission of Data in accordance with Regional and Group Requirements,
    • Support Headcount activities including but not limited to,
    • Monthly headcount Management – Actual, Budget and Forecast,
    • Annual Headcount and Labour Force Budgeting Process,
    • Processing of expatriate contracts where applicable,
    • Regular engagements and training to Time Administrators,
    • Store all payroll instructions on a Shared drive for easy accessibility,
    • Create and Maintain Electronic Personnel Files.

    HRIS & Analytics

    • Implement and maintain complete electronic employee personnel files, records, and other documentation for employees, including processing new employees, forms for employment status changes and maintaining timely and accurate files,
    • Prepare statistical and analytical summaries and reports from the HRIS involving payroll information that add value to the business,
    • Analyse Labour Costing to support productivity measures and Labour efficiencies.
    • Obtain Production efficiencies that support analytics.
    • Act as SAP Superuser and Site Single Contact for System related engagements
    • Provide regular feedback to the HR team on any system improvements and changes.
    • Always ensure data completeness and integrity,
    • Support HR Reporting Activities that include Employment Equity, B-BBEE etc.

    Technician - Slurry

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Undertakes planned and unplanned maintenance work on plant equipment, carries out maintenance schedules, carries out standby duties, conducts risk assessments for work to be carried out, ensures the  K.P.Is are met. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Relevant Trade Test
    • National Certificate in Instrumentation and Control
    • 2 years in Heavy industry or mining environment
    • Driver’s License.
    • EMS, QMS, On key and other System Skills
    • High Tension cables, switchgear, transformers, and instrumentation
    • AC and DC drives, Precaps’, AC and DC motors.
    • PLC (Siemens S5 + S7)
    • Maintenance systems.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Business Intelligence - Complete job-cards correctly and accurately with respect to time, asset classes, sub-classes and failure causes. Submit Asset Care Change suggestions for Continuous Improvement purposes. Liaise with Planning personnel to ensure that workorder feedback is captured correctly.
    • Functional Strategy and Planning - Perform proper job and spares planning.
    • Execution of Maintenance - Conduct electrical work which supports maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations of mechanical equipment as per planned and un-planned workorders. Perform planned and un-planned maintenance activities (as per CMMS) in a timeous and cost effective manner to the correct standard. Provide feedback to the Foreman on the execution of work for Continuous Improvement of work methods, tools, standardisation and planning. Perform preliminary failure diagnostics on equipment failures in order to take remedial action. Identify pro-
    • active maintenance opportunities. Create requests for spares and materials and interact with stores issuing personnel. Perform periodic, scheduled Asset Health Checks. Maintain housekeeping standards.
    • Operational Control - Ensure that Operational Best Practices (OBP) is adhered to. Complete intangible and tangible time booking accurately. Complete daily checklists for tools and areas of responsibility. Perform capturing of operational data.
    • Communication and Reporting - Participate meaningfully in the departmental INVOCOMs. Achieve engineering Key Performance Indicators. Provide input into interdepartmental INVOCOMs. Report factors, incidents and accidents that pose a business risk.
    • Governance and Risk Management - Adhere to IMS, legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Minimise environmental non-conformances. Comply with disciplinary rules, regulations and procedures.
    • Inventory Management - Submit requests for non-stock, direct purchases or emergency spares to the Foreman. Minimise working material inventory.
    • Contractor Management - Interact professionally with external service providers and contractors as required.
