    Hybrid Broker Consultant and Investment Specialist (Port Elizabeth)

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualification:

    • Matric.
    • Bachelor’s degree in commerce or related field essential / A track record of experience and industry related qualifications.
    • RE5 will be advantageous.
    • A completed NQF 5 – Wealth Management or RFP 3 will be advantageous.
    • CFP and/or investments related honours degree will be an advantage.

    Experience:

    • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience within the IFA, investment or linked product markets, preferably working at a LISP or retail asset management business.
    • Experience in Life Assurance will be an advantage.
    • Discretionary Fund Manager’s and/or multi management experience would be advantageous.
    • Intermediate knowledge of the Life Assurance or Financial Services Industry.
    • Technical knowledge about investments, investment industry & trends
    • Knowledge around Discretionary Fund Manager’s, ASISA categories and related asset managers is a pre-requisite.
    • Knowledge (and skill) in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to goals is essential.

    Computer Literacy:

    • MS Office package, particularly Internet, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Broker Consultant:

    • To support and service intermediaries in their sales efforts by preparing quotes, statement of benefits and other relevant supporting information.
    • Constant communication and feedback to advisers relating to all aspects of intermediaries operations.
    • To plan, organise and control liaisons with intermediaries, their managers.
    • To ensure continuous improvement of service standards to clients.
    • To ensure alignment to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), in all business practices.

    Investment Specialist:

    • Build and promote the PPSI asset management brand and image by networking with key industry stakeholders.
    • Identify and develop strategic partnerships to leverage new opportunities.
    • Position PPS Investments as the niche LISP for intermediaries in your region.
    • Deliver on very specific flow targets for your region, including both LISP and Asset Management capabilities.
    • Provide PPS head office with detailed reporting on leads and opportunities.
    • Excellent client services, including proactive response to intermediary needs.
    • Supply intermediaries with accurate investment, product, fund, service and investor information.
    • Training and developing the intermediary and support staff.
    • Supporting investment projects and campaigns, with the ability to deliver investment presentations.
    • Participating in investment product implementation.
    • Presentations and 1 on 1 engagements around investments, from a 101 level to discussing the PPS Asset Management value proposition.
    • Regular formal report backs to the Area Manager.

    Designer - Newlands Cape Town

    Minimum Requirements

    Ideal experience:

    • 5 or more years’ experience in a design role.
    • Motion design skill and Adobe After Effects expertise advantageous, but not a prerequisite
    • Having a good understand of the financial services / investment’s environment would be an advantage.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Senior Legal Advisor - Newlands Cape Town

    Minimum Requirements

    Ideal experience:

    • 5+ years’ experience in a financial services environment.
    • Experience/ knowledge of investments products, asset management industry, Pension Funds, Management Companies, Linked Investment Service Providers.

    Ideal qualifications:

    • LLB/ admitted attorney.
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Law or Business Administration would be advantageous.

    Systems knowledge:

    • Proficient in MS Office.
    • Working knowledge of legal research tools such Lexis Nexis, Sabinet, Sentinel.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide legal advisory support to business units and exco (advising on the impact of applicable laws, rules and conduct standards in respect business activities and potential impact).
    • Provide legal counsel to assist with strategy development, implementation and execution within PPS Investments Group as well as the broader PPS Group of companies.
    • Manage contract management process – provide oversight in relation to drafting of all legal agreements, service level agreements, investment mandates and administrate agreements required in relation to PPS Investments Group operations.
    • Provide legal opinions on matters impacting PPS Investments group and its related financial products and transactions specifically in relation to category I, II, and III financial service providers. Where required provide legal support to the PPS Retirement Funds and PPS Management Company and where required engage with external counsel to obtain such necessary external support as may be required.
    • Assist with submissions of regulatory applications and facilitate engagements with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) where required. Represent PPS Investments Group on certain Association of Savings South Africa (ASISA) regulatory working groups.
    • Develop tactical responses to changes in the legal environment and provide impact analysis in respect of following legislation, inter alia:
    • Collective Investment Schemes Act and subordinate legislation
    • ASISA and FSCA Standards/Guidelines;
    • Pension Funds Act and Regulation 28;
    • Long Term Insurance Act (Insurance Act) and Regulations; and
    • FAIS and FICA (as and when required);
    • Companies Act, Competition Act;
    • And such applicable legislation as may be required.
    • Facilitating the implementation of control measures to mitigate legal risks, advise business on legal risks that may impact strategic or operational objectives, ensure that legal liability in relation to all business transactions are fully considered and communicated to stakeholders within the agreed timeframe in through the operate governance structures within PPS Investments Group.
    • Lead and develop junior legal resources within the team.
    • Ensure that the PPS Investment combined governance assurance model is fully implemented within the broader PPS Investments business units.
    • Assist the PPS Investments Compliance team with regulatory oversight, legal interpretation of legislation and where applicable provide input to impact analysis.
    • Assist the business with understanding the industry regulatory landscape through various advisory and educational initiatives.
