    PI Engineering Technician PE

    THE PURPOSE OF THE PRODUCT INTRODUCTION ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN ROLE IS TO:

    • Troubleshooting of Alstom products at customer site in order to ensure their availability.  Provide technical expertise to subcontractors, warranty support team, project team members and less experienced personnel.

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

     Effective performance of Troubleshooting, repairs, Field modifications and testing activities

    • Gather Industrial requirements Engineering has to comply with, during product specification and design. Explain them to Engineering.
    • Carry out Troubleshooting during PI period as well as Pre-warranty & Commissioning (and Validation & Certification if applicable), including investigation and repair
    • Carry out Fleet check activities through TCMS data analysis and physical inspections
    • Reports & register any deviation (failure/event) in Failure Management data base including configuration data
    • Support operation helpdesk
    • Execute test & troubleshooting procedures to evaluate system performance and performs failure analysis on parts to be returned for repair
    • Adhere to all Fleet Maintenance and Product Introduction processes, procedures and relevant SOP’s during the performance of work activity and presence on work sites.
    • Support / execute Implementation of Field Modifications and repairs as needed
    • Support specific technical investigations by Engineering or internal/external Suppliers to improve reliability, availability and general performance of the 23E locomotive fleet
    • Identify and recommends preventative and corrective actions
    • Advises PI management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product enhancements
    • Ensure good information flow about interventions & operations within Troubleshooting team to support shift transition, if needed
    • Lead Troubleshooter team, if needed
    • Instructs and directs contractors in facilitating repairs if needed
    • Conducts peer reviews of PI activities and provide technical leadership if requested
    • Perform fleet check to ensure quality when required
    • Contribute to Return of Experience

    Compliance and adherence to Environment, Health, Safety and Quality rules, procedures and policies at all times.

    • Complete industrial documentation: industrial data sheets, IMFU (Industrial Maturity Follow-Up)
    • Ensure that all quality standards are always met
    • Follow depot/site procedures and instructions, both from the Company and from the customer
    • Ensure that quality standards of components are met 
    • Implement 8D Practices and PPS Practices as and when required
    • Ensure Zero outstanding NCR’s 
    • Locomotive Configuration – Ensure serialized numbers are logged in MAXIMO / GSI
    • I-Forms – Attend to I-Forms; Raise product related Issues; Report Incidents and Complete Actions 
    • Comply with all safety related training and ensure up to date certifications as required i.e. working at heights
    • Report any and all safety concerns as per Company procedure
    • Collaborate with EHS and Quality teams to ensure we put safety first and maintain first class quality

    Accurate and up to date Reporting and Data management

    • Initiate work through Maximo, update, and close work orders on Maximo /GSI
    • Ensure that test documentation are filled out and placed in  data file
    • Ensure that accurate reporting of work performed are done on MAXIMO / GSI. 
    • Ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting after testing activities
    • Ensure that routine testing and type testing documents are completed
    • Ensure comprehensive and accurate failure reporting are done
    • Ensure proper record keeping
    • Support the Commissioning Engineer with reporting where required

    THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:  

    • B.Tech  Engineer (Electrical / Electromechanical)
    • Minimum 10 years working experience (at this level) in a electrical/electronic/pneumatic testing environment
    • Environment, Health and Safety knowledge/exposure
    • Hands on Test & Commissioning, fault finding & repair experience
    • Working experience in Mechanical and Electrical Fault-finding 
    • Experience in analytical fault reporting and report writing
    • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics
    • Experience in Industrial activities related to Electrical, Control, onboard communications & network systems within process industry, railways or factory automation
    • Railway industry knowledge will be an advantage

    Maintenance Technician

    Job Purpose

    • To provide technical support and supervision to maintenance artisans during execution of corrective and preventative maintenance activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan the daily maintenance tasks for artisans before the start of shift.
    • Manage and maintain a preventative maintenance system to keep day to day operations running smoothly.
    • Prioritize execution of corrective maintenance activities.
    • Train and mentor junior artisans in maintenance procedures and best practices.
    • Conduct regular plant maintenance task observations and inspections.
    • Identifies and reports risks or areas of concern to management.
    • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and procedures to prevent irregular expenditure.
    • Influence the plant maintenance shutdown plans.
    • Drives and participates in failure investigation and root cause analysis.
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring housekeeping principles are always adhered to.
    • Perform other duties that are related to the function as prescribed by business requirements.

    Minimum Requirements

    • N. Diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
    • Trade Tested.
    • At least 4 years post trade test experience within the manufacturing environment.
    • A strong knowledge of various spot-welding equipment, automated machines, and electro-pneumatics.
    • A good knowledge of maintenance in a production environment.
    • Knowledge of various maintenance management strategies and their application.
    • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
    • Team management skills.

    Artisan

    Job Purpose

    • Assemble Cars in line with APSYS (Continuous Improvement tool).

    Key Responsibilities

    • To assembles and sub-components of Components to Car Body Shell on passenger coaches using Standard work procedure in Production Line following SQCD Targets
    • Perform other related responsibilities and carry out 5S responsibilities
    • To ensure that all tooling and equipment is well maintained
    • Ensure that all SOPs and Safety regulations are well adhered to and immediately report deviations to superior
    • Participate and contribute in all other Production related activities i.e Kaizen and Gemba events

    • Grade 12 with Maths and Science
    • Artisan Trade qualification 
    • Minimum  of 2 years’ experience  in a Semi Skilled role

    Special Requirements

    • The job involves frequent mobility, with work in several depots, and at times on the train corridors.

    Site APSYS Leader (Lean Expert/Improvent Specialist)

    THE PURPOSE OF THE SITE APSYS LEADER ROLE IS TO:

    • The Site APSYS Leader will drive and coordinate locally (within a site/ cluster/ project) with all métier the APSYS (Alstom Performance System) roadmap. APSYS Deployment - Animate, coordinate and challenge improvement actions to reach APSYS targets defined with each métier based on APSYS roadmaps using APSYS toolbox to deliver operational performance & develop local best practices that will be share with the steering committee.

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

    • APSYS Deployment:
    • Work with Site MD on strategic transformation using site SQCD objectives and APSYS roadmap.
    • Train people on APSYS program, methodologies and tools in his site / project.
    • Support each department in APSYS deployment by providing on field expertise on lean & continuous improvement tools
    • Facilitate and coordinate all improvement actions to reach APSYS targets defined with each métier based on APSYS roadmaps
    • Consolidate and report deployment status to Managing Director and APSYS Central team 

    APSYS assessment: 

    • Is responsible of self-assessment consolidation and APSYS assessment week / support mission’s preparation (logistics / accommodation, agenda, people availability …) 
    • Perform APSYS assessments in other sites / projects 

    APSYS Network 

    • Participate to APSYS events (webinars, APSYS award...)
    • Contribute as trainer to global training program deployment (eg: TrAMway, AQP/AQL, etc) in other sites / projects
    • Share good practices & benchmarks (internal / external) within APSYS network) 

    The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements: 

    • Degree (technical/engineering) 
    • Expert in métier (management committee members, senior manager, Senior Project manager…)
    • High energy, high exposure, international travel (advantageous)
    • Master lean principles (5S, Standard, Gemba, VSM, problem solving, performance and kaizen mindset) is advantageous
    • Capacity to coach top management of site and project team
    • LeanDNA reporting would be preferred
    • Ability to develop a network across all site
    • Stakeholder management and communication
    • The ideal candidate will have the following competencies
    • Rigor, Communication, experience in operational activities and results driven.
    • Data driven and courageous - Ability to manage teams in cross and multicultural relationships, 
    • Collaboration and team working, critical thinking and problem solving
