    Product Manager Microbiology

    • We are looking for a Product Manager Microbiology for our subsidiary in South Africa. He/She will ensure, in alignment with the strategy, that all conditions are met to develop the business by reaching the objectives commitments, to the organization for the Microbiology range in South Africa. The ideal candidate will report to the General Manager South Africa.

    What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?

    • Develop and formalize local market and customer understanding to feed the local marketing plan,
    • Develop, implement and track 3 year strat plan
    • Be responsible for overall sales and profit target achievement for franchise
    • Build a KOL network (Paths, ID clinicians)
    • Drive AMR plans in line with DOH guidelines
    • Build and executes the local marketing plan, involving all necessary internal functions in alignment with the global marketing strategy,
    • Supports product life cycle including feed-backs and adjustments to local requirements.
    • Lead all activities to maintain, launch (go to market), and withdraw (go out of market)  bioMérieux products and services of his/her perimeter: solution, value promotion and extraction, message and communication channels for each key stakeholder.
    • Align and embarks all internal and external business partners needed to execute the plan through: a clear communication of the strategy, ensure people are trained and make sure that their incentive plan is aligned with the strategy execution, ensure metrics are consistent and actionable. 
    • Develop a measurement plan to assess the efficiency of their marketing activities and its customers and business impact.
    • Contribute to budget, Strategic Plan and Commercial kick-off.
    • Ensure alignment and communication between global, regional and local marketing organizations.

    Who are you?

    Knowledge and skills

    • Bachelors required; Post Graduate degree in Microbiology and Business/Marketing highly preferred
    • 5 years’ experience minimum in Marketing or as a Product Specialist with experience in Clinical Laboratories

    • Good knowledge of diagnostic environment
    • Strong analytical, communication and motivation skills
    • Strong business acumen along with demonstrated work ethic, integrity and professional conduct

    Sales Rep - Based in Durban

    • We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Senior Sales Specialist to join our team, focusing on achieving ambitious sales targets for a crucial portfolio of instrumentation and reagents within the KZN region. This role is about securing new business revenue, fostering deep customer relationships.
    • Please note this is a fixed - term contract for a duration of 2 years.

    What You Will Be Doing (Key Missions):

    • Territory Ownership & Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets by relentlessly driving new business and optimizing existing relationships across the KZN clinical/diagnostics industry.
    • Relationship Architect: Build, nurture, and maintain strategic relationships with customers, Key Accounts, and KOLs to maximize sales opportunities.

    • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a central liaison, ensuring seamless cooperation with Application Specialists and Product Managers to deliver the best solutions.

    What You Need to Bring (Non-Negotiable Requirements):

    Requirement

    • REQUIREMENT: Minimum 5 years of Sales Experience.

    Industry Knowledge

    • REQUIREMENT: Experience selling Capital Equipment OR experience working in a Laboratory Environment (ideally both).

    Territory Expertise

    REQUIREMENT : Knowledge of the KZN Clinical / Diagnostics industry sales landscape.

    Education

    • BS/BA degree in Science or Business-related field (Biology, Bacteriology, Premedical, or medical degrees preferred).

    Essential Skills & Qualifications:

    • IVD Market Mastery: Extensive understanding of the IVD market, competition, and selling processes.
    • Tech Savvy: Solid computer literacy and experience utilizing a Sales Force Automation tool (Salesforce) for daily reporting and pipeline management.
    • Career Ambition: Demonstrated potential and aspiration to move into a managerial or Key Account Management (KAM) role in the future.
