    Enrolled Nurse

    Summary

    • The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and functions under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse in accordance with hospital standards and policies.
    • As a Professional Practitioner, the incumbent is also responsible for and is held accountable for his/her own acts andomissions.
    • Nursing activities form part of a nursing regime that is planned and initiated by the Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for the assessment and care of the needs of patients and will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate programmes of care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients/report potential/ actual risks identified, ensure all stock is well controlled and managed.

    Requirements

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse
    • + 1 - 5 Years working experience in the same position
    • Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse and all applicable health care legislation

    Work Experience

    • Working experience in private healthcare or the healthcare funding industry will be advantageous

    Unit Manager

    Summary

    • The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Improved Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance with professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating Training, Development and Mentoring of staff in the Unit. The incumbent will also be expected to apply and manage the best and most effective operational practice by focusing on the integration of people, technology and finance drivers in ensuring that Unit costs are maintained within budget.
    • Manage Acuities and Skill Mix in such a way as to ensure cost effective Quality Care.
    • Manage all costs emanating from the Department.
    • Ensure correct Billing, Stock Management, and Ordering.
    • Facilitate timeous and accurate Compilation of Files.
    • Ensure the unit is providing safe, cost-effective quality patient care in line with the Clinical

    • Evaluate the patient’s journey through patient experience and stakeholder input.
    • Evaluate Nursing Quality Indicators and Clinical Outcomes.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and parents regarding the patient’s care.

    • Ensure the principles of Infection Prevention and all standard precautions are adhered to.
    • Implementing group Quality Initiatives.

    Requirements

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
    • A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualifications.
    • Relevant qualification and experience within Adult ICU, High Care and Paediatric ICU Units
    • Post basic qualification in Management will be advantageous

    Work Experience

    • +5 years working experience in private healthcare or healthcare industry will be advantageous.
    • Experience in Management and Clinical Leadership.

    Registered Nurse

    Summary

    Case Manager

    Summary

    • The Case Manager will be responsible for the liaison between the patient and medical aids in order to secure payment for the hospital.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • Diploma in Nursing is essential

    Work Experience

    • Previous Case Management experience advantageous
    • Intermediate computer skills (Excel and Word)

    • Arrange in-service training for relevant staff to meet the needs of the theatre department
    • Liaise network of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that managed care of patients is maintained

    Nursing Manager

    Summary

    • The Night Manager will be responsible for coordinating Improved Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice.     • Administrate and supervise thus ensuring standards for quality nursing care are met in the hospital, evaluate on an on-going basis, and take appropriate action.
    • Monitor and enforce standards, procedures, and staff performance. Manage hospital activities including irregularities and policy violations and take corrective and follow up actions. Perform clinical instruction as necessary.
    • Control drugs as per regulations of the Pharmacy Act (Act 53 of 1974), perform checks on drug totals and drug register, ensure that procedures and recording are adhered to. Rationalize and control emergency stock.
    • Monitor and manage staff attendance and ensure coverage of hospital at all times. Allocate staff, based on workload and level of competence, ensuring optimal staff usage and maintaining the stability of nurse/patient ratio.
    • Promote and maintain good working and inter-personnel relationships with management, patients, staff, doctors, and colleagues. Co-ordinate the activities of all hospital departments to provide uniformity of direction.
    • Demonstrate professional ethics and leadership qualities. Maintain standards and conduct to the South African Nursing Act and SANC Regulations
    • Conduct frequent hospital rounds and provide top quality, customer-centric service.
    • Ensure processes are in line with the working procedures and policies of Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
