    Vetting Investigator

    Conduct vetting investigations on all applicants, employees and external vendors to ensure that they are security cleared to company requirements

    • Receive pre-employment, promotion and contractor vetting requests and record it on the prescribed spreadsheets.
    • Conduct various background checks on all applicants, including (but not limited to) criminal record verification, adverse financial records, SAFPS and REDS enquiries per agreed on timeframes.
    • Evaluate information received and make recommendations to the Vetting Manager.
    • Facilitate and capturing the fingerprints of vetting applicants.
    • Evaluate fingerprint results and make recommendations to the Vetting Manager.
    • Schedule interviews with candidates, references and relevant work references.
    • Interview identified personnel and/or pre-employment candidates and evaluate information obtained.
    • Conduct interviews with all relevant role players (references) within the agreed timeframe.
    • Detect potential risks through thorough evaluation and analysis of information gathered.
    • Update Vetting spreadsheets as per agreed timeframes.
    • Write the Vetting report on all relevant risks, possible threats and concerns identified during the investigation.
    • Present recommendations upon all the information gathered, that indicates a possible threat or risk to the company.
    • Schedule and conduct follow-up interviews as per investigative requirements

    Truth Verification Tests (TVT) (Polygraph and Voice Stress tests)

    • Timeously schedule TVT’s with the candidate.
    • Conduct TVT’s according to policy and procedure and legislation.
    • Compile TVT report as per the prescribed processes and notify Vetting Manager and HR Officers of the outcome of the tests.
    • Schedule and execute follow-up tests where the investigation deems it necessary.

    Provide input into the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, norms, and standards in vetting investigations, including:

    • Assist the Vetting Manager in the identification of possible risks or threats and implementing a preventive investigation program.
    • Support and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders to create and maintain long-term relationships.

    Reporting

    • Collect and submit vetting related documents to and from external and internal stakeholders and service providers. All documents must be saved as per SBV policies and guidelines.
    • Present recommendations to management if the applicant’s security clearance is not recommended or it is withdrawn, and a review is requested.
    • Keep records updated on an ongoing basis. 
    • Participate in team meetings to discuss new trends, issues, work related concerns, do follow-ups, and give positive input to resolve issues.
    • Maintain effective communication channels and systems between relevant stakeholders and SBV.

    • Subscribe and align to SBV Services' ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the department’s processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard.
    • Support SBVs ESG journey, reporting on and managing the ESG requirements to ensure a positive reflection and outcome.

    Lead as an Ambassador and executor of Change

    • Act as a change management architect in periods of change to ensure business continuity.
    • Manage the integration of business units into a seamless end to end solution for customers.
    • Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur, addressing or escalating matters/ concerns to the SME’s (subject matter experts) when required.
    • Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops, or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given across one’s portfolio.

    Requirements

    Work Experience

    • 4 years’ experience in vetting investigations.
    • Crime scene investigation (advantageous).
    • 2 years’ Polygraph/ Voice Stress Examiner experience (advantageous).
    • Computer Literacy: Microsoft Office Experience including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12.
    • 3-year National Higher Diploma or Degree in Human/Social Sciences (advantageous).
    • Completed vetting course through recognized institution (SAPS, SANDF, SSA).

    Talent Acquisition Specialist

    Support in the development of Talent Attraction strategies

    • Partner with the internal recruitment team to develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates aligned with transformation and talent initiatives
    • Lead in the delivery and implementation of targeted approaches, processes and systems to facilitate talent management and improve outcomes linked to enhancing bench strength, talent ratios as well as SBV overall talent strategy
    • Provide a view and incorporate external recruitment trends, including diversity and inclusion data, time/cost to hire, hire sources, and other key metrics, into the relevant strategies to ensure the department remains agile and adaptable to business trends and needs
    • Manage and orchestrate the different workstreams to support the delivery of the strategy

    Create sourcing requirements and talent pools

    • Create an in-depth understanding within HR and filter to the broader SBV around sourcing requirements
    • Build talent pipelines for key positions, future requirements creating and implementing the necessary talent ratios per position, leveraging bench strength through internal data bases and alternate external resources for a steady pipeline
    • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to socialise, introduce and implement high talent culture initiatives
    • Research and implement novel advertising options leveraging social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates
    • Assess candidate suitability with regards to skills and fit for the business and area

    Facilitate opportunities to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop joint solutions

    • Collaborate with business develop and cultivate working relationships overcoming barriers to information sharing and facilitating a unified approach to talent initiatives and supporting the achievement of transformation targets
    • Develop and maintain professional business associations at all levels across the business to effectively network and influence talent management practices
    • Network with industry contacts, and association memberships to source the best quality candidate, effectively communicating position opportunity and SBV value proposition
    • Represent SBV at as a brand ambassador at career events  
    • Leverage relevant social media and communications channels to assist the Communications team to establish SBV as a recognisable “Employer of Choice”, building brand awareness and promoting the Talent agenda both internally and externally

    Create and maintain data integrity for reporting

    • Formally start building a database of candidates that can be referenced and maintain a pool of readily available candidates
    • Analyse resourcing performance against talent metrics and ratios, collating, reporting on identified trends and providing relevant recommendations
    • Provide market trends and analysis, integrating the insights into monthly reporting
    • Analyse trends in local and international talent attraction digital innovation, prepare analytics and metrics and submit, using insights to support the forecasting of future changes in CoE practices, processes, and solutions
    • Maintain data quality and accuracy on SBV’s internal databases and talent systems

    Change and Culture Ambassador

    • Lead from the front as an ambassador and executor of change initiatives such as embracing transformation and being an inspiring and ethical leader
    • Motivate, direct and influence employee behaviour to achieve business goals during critical business periods to ensure continuity to operations
    • Drive the SBV values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment toward the mission.
    • Drive a clear and consistent message/narrative on a case for change to the initiatives that focus on talent management functions to secure buy-in

    Requirements

    • 4 years’ experience in recruitment and talent acquisition of which;
    • 1 year experience recruiting for senior level positions 

    Minimum Requirements: Education

    • Diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration
