    Junior Metallurgist

    Role Context

    • Support Metallurgist on test work & projects
    • Work closely with other discipline Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers as a key team player within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team
    • Support technical troubleshooting, optimization, maintenance, commissioning & start-up activities
    • Aid in the completion of mass & energy balance, flowsheet development & other process related calculations
    • Participate in the testing of equipment either in-house or on client sites as well as develop and implement new processes, designs and/or technologies
    • Liaise with clients, contractor representatives, and/or project field personnel as necessary to assist with meeting key project deliverables with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve arising issues on time
    • Conduct work in a professional manner and communicate a positive image personally and of the project

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12/ NQF Level 4
    • Diploma or degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/ Metallurgy

    Job Specific Experience

    • At least Two years' experience as a metallurgist trainee in processing plants
    • Lab and/or pilot scale experience
    • Mineral processing, Hydrometallurgy & Pyrometallurgy knowledge
    • Computer Literate 
    • Valid driver’s license

    Electrician

    Role Context

    • Correct work as directed
    • Plan work and execute
    • Ensure proper access control workplace
    • Conduct risk assessment with all tasks
    • Diagnoses and repairs on plant equipment
    • Complete requisitions for all spares needed
    • Ensure availability of machinery/equipment
    • Manage OH&S and environmental hazards in the workplace
    • Ensure compliance with applicable SHE policies and procedures
    • All installations are in line with ISO 9001 procedures and policies
    • Maintains stock levels of all items required for the completion of duties
    • Perform a variety of routine and preventive maintenance tasks as per maintenance task lis
    • Using gas and electric welding equipment; performs skilled brazing and soldering; and uses a variety of machines, such as power saws, grinders, and drills, in completing work
    • riving a sales team as well as managing senior accounts within the mining and related industries on a national and cross border basis for the company
    • Communicate with production Forman and Supervisors to inform on maintenance activities performed and availability of equipment
    • Providing technical assistance on various mining chemical & mineral processing technologies within the mining industry
    • Cleanup work areas equipment supplies and materials; apply standard safety practices and procedures

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12/N3
    • Trade: Electrician/Millwright

    Job Specification

    • 5 to 10 years’ experience as an Electrician or Millwright
    • Must have own transport

    Lab Operator

    Role Context

    • Fluxing
    • Filtration of samples 
    • XRF pellet preparation
    • Grading analysis (PSD)
    • Moisture analysis
    • Fire Assay calculations and QC reporting
    • Balance Room Operations
    • Wet chem. Sample preparation
    • Good housekeeping
    • SHE Compliance
    • Ensuring that samples are prepared and analyzed accurately and timeously
    • Primary sample preparation in an analytical chemistry laboratory would be advantageous 
    • Secondary sample in an analytical chemistry laboratory
    • Separation of precious metals of fire assay techniques would be advantageous

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 with passed subjects (Mathematics and Science)/NQF Level 4
    • Basic Computer literacy
    • Minimum 2 years of Laboratory experience
    • Fluxing
    • Filtration of samples XRF pellet preparation
    • Grading analysis (PSD)
    • Moisture analysis
