    Junior Risk Analyst – VKB Risk Management, Head Office Reitz

    Role Purpose

    • We are seeking a Junior Risk Analyst who is passionate about understanding how financial and operational performance translate into meaningful risk insights and strategic decision-making.
    • The Junior Risk Analyst will support the analysis and interpretation of financial and operational data within a risk context, contributing to structured risk insights and scenario thinking that informs management decisions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Risk Analysis & Insight Development

    • Analyse operational and financial data to identify key risk drivers and trends
    • Support the development of risk insights for management discussions
    • Translate business performance into structured risk perspectives
    • Link financial and operational information to enterprise risk considerations 

    Scenario Thinking & Strategic Support

    • Assist in developing scenario analyses (market, macroeconomic, climate, operational)
    • Assess potential impacts of scenarios on business performance and risk exposure
    • Contribute to forward-looking risk and uncertainty analysis
    • Support strategic risk discussions and governance inputs 

    Risk Management Support

    • Assist with risk identification, assessment, and reporting processes

    • Assist with broader Risk Management activities 

    Minimum Requirements

    Relevant qualification in: 

    • BCom (Finance / Economics / Risk Management)
    • CIMA (completed or in progress)or related field
    • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
    • Strong demonstrated interest in financial analysis and business performance
    • Basic understanding of risk management principles (advantageous)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

    Job Description

    • Provide general support to credit manager regarding the management of the assigned debtors book. 
    • Support to the assistant accountant to efficiently manage account administration of the debtors book.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF4
    • Experience within the banking and financial environment will serve as recommendation
    • Computer Literate, Excel and Word at intermediate level

    Duties

    • Correct and accurate application of payments on a daily basis
    • Recovery of ad hoc costs per transaction
    • Payment of expenses as required (correct and timely)
    • Ensure EFO and journals meet all audit requirements on a daily basis as prescribed
    • Approval costs and attorney costs
    • Reception duties + handling of stationery, printers (ordering ink); ticket requirements, financing committee room calendar bookings
    • Personnel – Entire process of approvals as well as loading limits for staff and handling of retirements. 
    • Create P numbers, handle the following: inquiries, applications for monthly accounts & purchase cards, load limits, retirements, and monthly statements
    • Processing, evaluation, and administration of staff accounts
    • General administrative functions (EFO, journals, and receipts)
    • Filing of all completed documentation (scan and file in File Director)
    • Timely completion and follow-up of administrative duties (inquiries, auditors)
    • Management of staff debtor accounts (outstanding accounts)
    • Correct processing of direct bank payments, punctual allocation of funds, allocation of monies on list, journals, and receipts on a daily basis
    • Resolving and coordinating client complaints, requests, and inquiries on an ongoing basis, as well as any inquiries from non-members
    • Completion of tasks – urgency, professionalism, and contributing to improved outputs
    • Opening and input of new membership applications (Members/Non-Members and Staff) and cards
    • Memberships, discounting, transfers on Board list complete and on time for checking, as well as filed on File Director within 48 hours deadline
    • Collaboration with industries to address client needs
    • Application of the POPI Act in handling member inquiries
