    Genetic Analysis Account Manager

    Job Description

    • We have an exciting opportunity for a Genetic Analysis Account Manager to join our team in South Africa and drive the growth of our Genetic Sciences Division (GSD). GSD provides industry-leading genetic sciences tools and solutions to advance scientific discovery,  enable customers in applied markets and improve global health outcomes. Our portfolio includes Capillary Electrophoresis Sequencing, Quantitative Real Time PCR, digital PCR, and Micro Array.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Achieve sales targets, both quarterly and annually, by effectively promoting and selling our genetic sciences products.
    • Provide the company with relevant market information to develop strategies on products and stay ahead of the competition.
    • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve revenue targets, ensuring long-term success.
    • Develop and implement detailed plans and programs to drive product sales and achieve revenue goals in both the immediate and future periods.
    • Have a direct impact on the sales of our products now and in the future, contributing to our continued growth and success.
    • Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
    • Possess an academic degree (minimum MSc) in biology, life sciences, or a related field.
    • Have a relevant technical and scientific background with extensive knowledge of dPCR, qPCR, sequencing, and/or microarray preferred.
    • Bring at least 3 years of sales experience, with a proven track record of closing high-value deals in highly competitive situations.
    • Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement strategies that drive growth and deliver exceptional results.
    • Exhibit excellent verbal and written command of the English language, particularly in a technical context.
    • Hold a valid driver's license and be willing to undertake frequent travel, including potential participation in congresses over weekends.

    • Our interns are matched to projects based on their abilities and current business needs. All projects will have significant strategic and/or operating importance to the business to which they are assigned.

    Projects may include the following responsibilities:

    • Partner with leadership to identify and address areas to improve efficiency and benchmark with industry best practices.
    • Become a process owner; critically review specific processes with great attention to detail and proactively recommend opportunities for improvement.
    • Use highly specialized equipment and instrumentation accurately and with limited supervision.
    • Develop tools and models to improve tracking and efficiency.
    • Learn continuous improvement methodologies (i.e., PPI, Six Sigma, and others) and help promote improvement initiatives.
    • Work collaboratively with other functions including program management, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and finance to achieve business objectives.

    How will you get here?

    • Undergraduate student pursuing an Operations / Engineering-related degree.
    • 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.
    • Experience using computer applications such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Native (or proficient) in English.
    • Internship will fulfill a 12-month University placement within curriculum.
    • Ability to be onsite – this is not a remote opportunity.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong professional presence.
