    Senior BIM Modeller - Highways

    Job Description

    • The Senior BIM Modeller applies knowledge within an area to a project to solve straightforward problems and is also able to apply that knowledge to typical solutions
    • An advanced user in Autodesk Civil 3D (Civils), or similar, who can draw/model with limited supervision having the ability to create content within a specific discipline. Must also be an advanced user in other core discipline specific software.
    • Applies knowledge within an area to a project to solve straightforward problems  and is also able to apply that knowledge to typical situations
    • Works independently and collaboratively with moderate level of guidance
    • Work is regularly reviewed by supervisors and more senior team members
    • Contributes within an area of knowledge on a project, solving a range of straightforward problems, and applying that knowledge to atypical assignments
    • Analyzes and applies solutions to typical issues within area of expertise within a sub-group or team within their function, business unit or technical discipline, using standard operating procedures/methodologies as a basis

    Qualifications

    • 3 Years' + experience with  modelling software in an highways/roads engineering design environment.
    • Grade 12, 2 years ITI Diploma in Drafting or 3 years Diploma course in Engineering preferable.
    • BIM certification would be advantageous

    Senior Quantity Surveyor

    Job Description

    • The Senior Quantity Surveyor acts as project leader, supervising and delivering all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion. Is  intrinsically involved in projects and ensures effective delivery input of others. Guides Candidate Quantity Surveyors and independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete design works.

    Technical Excellence:

    • Facilitates over and coordinate small - mid-size projects.
    • Liaises with the project Executive and the client body to establish and implement  a clear project brief.
    • Accountable for a variety of complex deliverables throughout the lifecycle of a project
    • Briefs the team on the project scope to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood
    • Manages the resources on a project and within the established budget
    • Monitors and manages the performance of Project Surveyors and other direct reports
    • Functions as a Deputy Project Manager on APIC on at least one active project
    • Assists with managing project services and projects using APIC and other systems as relevant
    • Ensures all deliverables comply with the PDS
    • Complies with all QA requirements and benchmarks project data
    • Working in conjunction with Executives to assist with the management                                                                                                          

    Client Relationship Management:

    • Begins to build and maintain client relationships.
    • Attends client meetings as technical support to gather information and discuss project requirements, explain/ defend work, etc.
    • Participates in the development and preparation of bids and proposals
    • Presents solutions to clients in a professional and technically competent manner.   

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 8 years overall experience within the built environment with a focus in Mining and Civil Infrastructure would be preferred
    • Must be registered as PRQS
    • Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or University.

    Engineer - Highways

    Job Description

    • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
    • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
    • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
    • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
    • Identifies discrepancies in results.
    • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
    • Preparation and management geometric design models and drawings for roads and other road related structures
    • Preparation and management of road geometric designs and drawings, reports, bill of quantities
    • 3D design and modelling of roads and associated infrastructure
    • Applying the AECOM Quality Management System (QMS) in all work
    • Knowledge of Geometric Design Codes, Drainage Design Codes and other relevant standards will be a benefit

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Civil Engineering
    • High competency and specialist design and 3D modelling of roads and associated infrastructure
    • Minimum of four years’ experience in the design and modelling of roads, and associated infrastructure
    • Proficiency in AutoCad, Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads
    • Good knowledge of the SANRAL and Western Cape Provincial Governments design procedures will be a benefit
    • Experience working for Transport Authority clients in the USA, Canada and Australia will be considered favourable
    • Experienced using common data environments Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM360) and Bentley ProjectWise

    Senior CAD Technician - Highways

    Job Description

    • Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, drawings, sketches and results from computer systems and schematics.  
    • May be involved in training and supervising technical personnel.  
    • May perform some data entry.

    Qualifications

    • Drafting Certificate or Autodesk/Bentley certified accreditation or Diploma in Civil Engineering
    • 6 years minimum relevant experience within the built environment working on CAD
