    QC Monitor

    Purpose of the role

    • To effectively monitor and maintain all relevant food safety systems.
    • To ensure that production samples requiring external lab analysis are submitted timeously and to compare results to the specification, ensuring positive release of only conforming product.
    • To identify and communicate non-conforming product to the QA Technologist for further action.
    • The QC Monitor will be expected to act QA Technologist when needed.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric.
    • Bsc Consumer Science/ Food Science/ B-tech Food Technology/ National Diploma Food Technology/ Biotechnology
    • IS0 22000 Implementation/ FSSC 22000

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify and submit all samples requiring external analytical/microbiological testing on a daily basis. Ensuring that testing is completed timeously to avoid shipping delays
    • Monitor all Food Safety activities in relation to FSSC 22000 and customer requirements

    External Analysis:

    • Compile a customer database that stipulates their external analysis needs and continuously update to keep it current.
    • Identify and submit all samples requiring external analytical/microbiological testing on a daily basis. Ensuring that testing is as per customer requirements and it is completed timeously to avoid shipping delays.
    • Managing environmental monitoring program, ensuring swabs are taken as per the testing schedule.
    • Managing external testing samples, by ensuring all samples are taken aseptically to avoid cross-contamination.
    • Managing external analytical/ chemical tests as per the testing schedule.
    • Evaluate and trend results to ensure compliance to specification.
    • Identify any non-conforming product, communicating this information to the relevant stakeholders

    NPD Technologist (Randfontein)

    Our Talent Team is on the hunt for an NPD Technologist within the Groceries Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to theSenior NPD Technologist.

    The key purpose of this role is to ensure product development projects are completed per specification, on time, of a high quality and at target cost in collaboration with all relevant departments.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Food Science or BTech in Food Technology qualification.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role in the food manufacturing industry.
    • Knowledge of MS Office.
    • Experience of cold processing of dressings and condiments.
    • Experience in hot processing of cook up sauces and toppings.
    • Experience in baking science and technologies.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Innovate new products from concept to launch.
    • Matching and development of new and existing products.
    • Scheduling and running of factory trials and attending first production runs.
    • Compile Finished Product Specifications and update existing specs when there are changes.
    • Sourcing and approval of new raw materials in accordance to the approval and management of change process.
    • Generate and maintain product specifications to feed into the Technical Department for new and existing products.
    • Set up and conduct sensory evaluations.
    • Assisting in root cause analysis together with Quality and Production teams.
    • Assisting in the approval of artwork.
    • Compile the DHACCP studies for new raw materials.

    Diesel Mechanic - Durban

    Purpose of the position:

    • To carry out maintenance & preventive service in accordance to the maintenance schedule plan and breakdowns and attend to afterhours breakdowns on local delivery fleet and forklifts.

    Minimum Requirements    
    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Matric
    • N3 National Certificate as Diesel Mechanic

     Experience and Training

    • 4-5 years’ experience as a qualified mechanic in a workshop environment.
    • 1 year in a supervisory role
    • Experience with FAW, FUSO, ISUZU, Scania; Toyota and Nissan Trucks.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    Fleet Maintenance

    • Execute the preventative maintenance schedule.
    • Perform delivery vehicle breakdown services as required
    • Attend to after hour vehicle breakdowns.
    • Perform minor auto electrician repairs.
    • Prepare vehicles for annual Certificate of Fitness (COF)
    • Ensure all mechanical tasks are completed according to the job card specifications
    • Ensure cost effective utilization of parts (new & used)
    • Asses services rendered by external suppliers are of high quality within the agreed scope of work
    • Analyze fleet fuel consumption figures & take corrective action measures

    People Management

    • Ensure team availability to allocated task
    • Accurate and timeous recording of teams time sheets
    • Ensure good working relations between staff
    • Manage performance of mechanical assistants and address issues
