    HR Admin Assistant

    Job Purpose    

    • To perform an Administrative function and to ensure maintenance training records, data capturing.                                                                                                              

    Principal Accountabilities    
    Perform Super User duties for AMOS: 

    • Test new version updates 
    • Check if reports work 
    • Changes to version and how it will impact the Maintenance Training Department 
    • Update High, Love and QWIM Business Processes 
    • Create Training Manual and update revisions 
    • Create theoretical and practical exams 
    • Ensure sign off before implementation date 
    • Create User Report Specifications 
    • Create the UAT reports 
    • Create Functional/Test report for all new report requirements 
    • Assist IT with screen dumps of AMOS to create reports and resolve issues with Swiss Amos 
    • Testing reports before sign-off 
    • Request reports to be added to the Swiss Amos Report and get required department to give access for the reports 
    • Check HR and QA Interfaces daily and request assistance from HR and QA 
    • Create new course codes and templates 
    • Train staff when required 

    Create and perform data capturing: 

    • Create daily class and attendance lists 
    • Data capture QMP exams on QMP On Demand
    • Print class and attendance list 
    • Print Practical Exams and envelopes 
    • Data capture class list, file class and attendance files 
    • File envelopes of practical exams 
    • Print certificate and TETA carry cards (laminate) 
    • Arrange signatures from Instructors and Managers 
    • Control certificates (file to be completed when certificates are been issued) 

    Ensure and provide an efficient counter service 
    Ensure and provide an efficient service to other Department Managers, MIP’s 
    Annual Schedule: 

    • Assist Manager with the correct codes for the Training Matrix used by QA to set-up the annual schedule 
    • Check if the annual schedule is correct before implementation 
    • Assist with meetings to discuss the process for the annual schedule with the MIP’s 

    Ensure and perform general admin duties: 

    • Maintain a secure filing system 
    • Ordering of stationery 
    • PC/Copier consumables 
    • Staff transfers, create new files and remove files of staff leaving the company 
    • Update Training Prospectus 
    • Create new files annually for class/attendance list 
    • Move files to archive 
    • Shred old exams after 5 years 
    • Ensure and provide an administration service for own time and full time examination to Maintenance staff/customers Opening class lists, capture exams, print practical exams and envelopes, data capture class lists and issue certificates 
    • Ensure and prepare payment requisitions for primary and secondary and forward to HR for payment 
    • Ensure, co-ordinate and arrange requests for class room bookings 
    • Ensure and provide reports to Managers and Instructors. Define the fields and create the reports for Technical Training statistical data 
    • Provide training to MIP’s 
    • Monitor Admin Office budget, provide budget reports, and initiate corrective action for anomalies 
    • Ensure and control safe keeping of examination material 
    • Ensure and control safe keeping of Laptop computers, projectors 

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent with one year certificate (Admin or HR) - Essential
    • Diploma (NQF Level 6) - Advantageous
    • Driver’s License - Essential
    • HR Experience (Technical Training Admin Officer) 5 years - Essential
    • Working with Training and Skills Development Suppliers 2 years - Advantageous
    • Good knowledge of AMOS 2 years - Essential
    • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office inclusive of Access), Snipping Tool, SAP, QMP On Demand, PDF editor, willing to learn new programs 2 years - Essential

    OJT Instructor (Avionic)

    Job Purpose    

    • To provide high quality, cost effective instruction and training for both regulatory and type, in order to maintain a high standard and safety orientated maintenance of South African Airways and third party aircraft in accordance with local and international airworthiness standards.

    Principal Accountabilities    

    • To design and develop training programs and materials in order to meet SAAT and 3rd party training needs:
    • Research the training requirements through needs analysis with SAAT and 3rd party customers.
    • Analyse findings, design training programs and develop training objectives and content.
    • Develop /compile training material, curriculum guides and instructional plans and obtain approval.
    • Update all training material as required by the manufacture and operator/s, review MOD’s, SB’s, Regulations and procedures of course update.
    • To deliver training interventions (including 3rd party courses) in line with SAAT’s training requirements.
    • Prepare for delivery of training in order to ensure efficient delivery of the course content.
    • Keep abreast with latest developments on Aircraft Systems and Technology to ensure relevance of the training content.
    • Confirm all the logistical requirements for delivery of training (venue, materials, accommodation, travel, etc.).
    • Liaise with simulator personnel to obtain Simulator operating instructions in order to conduct the training session.
    • Deliver training and adapt learning resources / aids as per the specific outcomes and level of target group.
    • Facilitate / conduct CBT session and video training sessions classroom courses.
    • Conduct course evaluations analyse and correct Competent / Not Yet Competent ratio and problem questions found in exams and action as needed.
    • Arrange for the close-off of the contract job account number for billing of 3rd party customers for both regulatory and type training.
    • To plan, organise and conduct assessments in order to measure learner competence.
    • Source / develop assessment in order to measure learner competence.
    • Conduct assessments, administer and record assessment results.
    • Participate in assessment validation sessions

    • To conduct Simulator sessions, ground runs and ground run checks

    • Conduct “On Job Training” as per “hands on” Training Log Sheets.
    • Oversee the completion of all relevant documentation.
    • To supervise the section’s human resource in line with SAAT’s HR policies and procedures.
    • Recruit staff per the section’s staffing demand (when required).
    • Identify the training needs of the section’s staff and oversee their development in order to ensure and maintain competence.
    • Alignment of performance contracts with direct report in line with the Training department’s objectives, conduct performance appraisals to measure productivity and meet objectives.
    • Initiate appropriate Labour Relation action within the section where necessary (when required).
    • Motivate employees and colleagues within the section to ensure high morale and improved productivity,
    • Adhere to all HR policies, procedures, OHS and SMS.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Trade test in appropriate trade / skill and part certification/equivalent in appropriate area of expertise and aircraft line and base maintenance type course (Level 3)
    • 5 years post apprenticeship experience

    Technician Paint

    Job Purpose    

    • The Aviation Technician will perform maintenance inclusive of servicing, self-inspecting, repairs, overhaul, testing, basic trouble shooting and modifications to aircraft engines, airframes and components in accordance with task cards, check sheets and work instructions, complying with SAAT Manufacturers and regulatory authority requirements to SAA and customer aircraft.

    Principal Accountabilities    

    • Perform servicing, inspections, repairs, overhauls, maintenance, testing, trouble shooting and modifications to aircraft components on time in accordance with regulatory authority requirements.
    • Operate support and specialized test equipment and ensure correct and serviceable tooling is obtained and utilized to perform overall/maintenance of components as per approved documentation.
    • Inspect conditions of parts/components as per applicable regulatory authority requirements and institute corrective actions when required.
    • Plan and process parts
    • Perform all reasonable tasks requested by Senior License Technician/Production Leader and comply with work instructions manual.
    • Feedback to Senior License Technician/Production Leader on technical discrepancies and daily progress activities to ensure that productivity and safety standards are met.
    • Optimize and improve utilization of equipment
    • Complete and stamp all relevant documentation pertaining to each task and in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide technical assistance in other areas
    • Attend meetings/training/workshops as requested i.e., production meetings, safety, green area meetings etc.
    • Prepare the work area as per manufacturers requirements and policies and procedures to ensure safe working environment.
    • Return all tooling equipment to stores and clean work area on completion of task
    • Issue and return of tooling/test benches in AMOS
    • Moving of serviceable spares to main stores after workshop finalization
    • Creation of repair documentation after components received in the work area
    • Filling of repair documentation and work pack in the archives after components were released into service and retrieve work pack
    • Order their own spares, collect them from main stores and create GT/3 spares list for their components allocated to them
    • Clean and prepare their components for processing
    • Moving spares to repair cycle or between workshops

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Passed an Aviation Apprenticeship and Trade Test in the applicable Trade
    • Must have 2 years’ projects or workshop maintenance experience
    • Valid driver’s license Code B
    • Hold certification will be advantageous

    Operator Paint

    Job Purpose    

    • Perform final Preparation of Aircraft and parts for paint strip or painting this includes the use of hand  tools and pneumatic machinery (Orbital sanders)                             

    Principal Accountabilities    

    • Perform preparation of aircraft and parts
    • Sanding / Masking
    • Acknowledge receipt and monitor movement of work in progress
    • Complete and sign all relevant documentation
    • Assist with general hangar and workshop house keeping:
    • Cleaning of work area/equipmentEquipment, spares and material movement
    • Assist technicians with general preparation
    • Washing and cleaning of aircraft parts
    • Sanding aircraft parts 
    • Clean the work area and all general workshop housekeeping 
    • Assit with sealant activities, e.g removal, cleaning of lap joints, apllication and removal of masking tape 
    • Complete and sign all relevant documentation (Labour Reporting)
    • Assist with the controlling and movement of spares, equipment and materials
    • Removing tap eetc after any job completion
    • Perform any other duties alocated by paint technician, SLT, Production Leader or Senior Manager
    • Must be prepared to work at various heights
    • be prepared to work with a variety of chemicals, thinners and other solvents 
    • No parts are to be placed on floor without protective materila 
    • Applicant must be able to mask certain areas of aircraft and aircraft parts prior to painting 
    • All work to be carried out as per lay down procedure

    Qualifications & Experience
