    Business Development Manager MEA

    What You'll Do

    • Identify, structure, negotiate, close and lead strategic deals with local market and regional partners that are relevant to Spotify’s growth and vision in Middle East and Africa region, with a focus on Sub Saharan Africa
    • Define and complete the long-term partner relationship, identifying new opportunities to grow the partnership and unlocking additional value for both Spotify and our Partners
    • Assume day-to-day responsibility of signed agreements and build excellent relationships within the partner’s organization – from C-level to Marketing and Sales - acting as the ‘go to‘ person for the partner’s needs
    • Ensure that Spotify’s commitments in a partner relationship are delivered (e.g., marketing, data reporting, etc.), including seeking and securing activation opportunities
    • Lead internal approvals, including interacting with partners from relevant functions (e.g., Product, Legal, Finance, Marketing)
    • Drive cross-functional teams towards deal objectives
    • Identify key partners, establish relationships and credibility within partner organizations
    • Lead a pipeline of prospective partnerships
    • Carry out detailed partner analysis and relay partner feedback and market intelligence to internal teams

    Who You Are

    • You have 5 years experience in business development and/or strategic partnerships, managing or working in telcos and/or digital service companies in the Middle East and Africa region
    • You have optimally led partnerships with large companies and demonstrate an ability to think strategically about sophisticated business issues, and can recommend and implement strategic action plans
    • You have experience working in a dynamic, ever-changing environment with a track record of delivering results
    • You are a phenomenal teammate who demonstrates a collaborative demeanor and who can listen to and voice diverse viewpoints internally
    • You have worked with different levels of management (externally and internally) and are skilled at communicating cross-functionally in a structured and clear manner to influence outcomes
    • You have strong analytical skills and pay attention to detail - with the ability to see the end game of each business opportunity
    • You have a problem-solving approach and a strong propensity to take initiative, with strong influencing abilities
    • You have a deep understanding of technology, trends, and the ability to articulate key points with partners and internal teams
    • You have a strong facility for negotiating contracts, interpreting legal documents, and working with attorneys to complete agreements
    • Proficient in English; French language a plus

    Artist & Label Partnerships Manager South Africa (Afrikaans Specialist )

    We are looking for a specialist Afrikaans Artist & Label Partnerships Manager. In this role you’ll ensure that Afrikaans artists, artist managers, and labels see Spotify as the #1 partner for artist development, promotion and monetization. Focusing on the South African music landscape, you will work closely with the local team to implement pivotal initiatives as well as with your international counterparts on multi-market campaigns. Our ideal candidate has fun at work and a desire to make a positive impact on the music industry. This role is based in South Africa.

    What You'll Do

    • Build and maintain outstanding partnerships across the artist and label community and advocate for Spotify’s interests externally within the creator community.\
    • Support and educate key partners on Spotify tools and resources to encourage them and increase their daily business
    • Understand and gain insight of content consumption, user engagement and behaviors by analyzing data and analytics
    • Work with the Lead Editor to define and implement a clear Afrikaans music strategy, sought at super-serving users, identify and substantiate playlist hypotheses for the Afrikaans music sub-genres, curate, analyze and maintain many playlists for a variety of audiences, moods, and moments. Build and implement programming/promotional strategies based on performance indicators
    • Ensure Spotify has the best possible content offering in the market, and use this to further Spotify’s appeal to existing and new users
    • Ensure priority releases in your territory are available on Spotify from day one
    • Collaborate with the global music teams, as well as local and global editorial teams, to ensure content strategies are localized and successfully implemented
    • Work cross-functionally to fulfill strategic company goals
    • Prioritize virtual and live conferences, attend events and conferences. Some travel required

    Who You Are

    • 5+ years’ experience with in an established digital music service, record label, or at a media company in South Africa.
    • You possess a flawless level of written and spoken English and Afrikaans.
    • Consistent track record in music marketing and operations, a deep understanding of the local music industry, and have built relevant contacts with labels and artists.
    • Strong music and technology background; you are fully conversant in the latest digital marketing techniques and adept at analyzing and interpreting data and using it to set goals.
    • Familiar with content management systems and supply chain processes.
    • Well organized, dedicated, with the ability to plan and deliver on tight timings and pay outstanding attention to detail.
    • Excellent negotiating, presentation and social skills.
    • Finally, you're a great teammate and always have a positive and low ego demeanor.
