    Medical Support Assistance - Umhlanga

    MEDICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Answering phone calls and emails and delivering messages to staff members.
    • Greeting patients and visitors, answering basic questions, and directing them to the correct departments.
    • Maintaining patient records and updating their medical data, both manually and electronically.
    • Organizing the paperwork and opening files for new patients.
    • Verifying patients' insurance information.
    • Assisting Doctors with patient examinations, as needed.

    Pharmacy Data Capturer - Umhlanga

    ROLE SUMMARY

    • The pharmacy Data Capturer will be responsible for the accurate capturing of data in pharmacy. The Pharmacy Data Capturer has the responsibility of ensuring that that all the stock is captured on the system and all invoices are processed accordingly

    KNOWLEDGE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Daily processing of invoices and credit notes onto SAP for entire hospital
    • Forwarding of documentation to finance.
    • Completeness and accuracy of information and documentation. 
    • Processing internal transfers.
    • Management and compliance with certain financial targets and guidelines as set out by the business.
    • Compliance with Pharmacy SOP’s.
    • Follow up on outstanding invoices not on the report.
    • Liaise with Buyer with all pricing queries.
    • Follow up on all queries raised by finance.
    • Assist in receiving stock.
    • Assist with product barcoding.
    • Completion of allocated cycle counts.
    • Assist with ward replenishment should operational need arise

    EDUCATION & WORKING EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • SAP knowledge critical
    • Intermediate Computer Skills with knowledge to Excel

    Registered Nurse - Umhlanga

    KNOWLEDGE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
    • Contribute to the holistic care of patients
    • Attend handover of report at shift commencement. Audit of health records to ensure compliance 
    • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, and encourage them to participate in therapeutic activities

    EDUCATION & WORKING EXPERIENCE

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional nurse and Psychiatric nurse
    • Relevant qualification in Psychiatry B CUR/Diploma in Nursing (General, Community Health and Psychiatric) & Midwifery
    • Prior experience in psychiatric nursing is essential (Minimum 2 years)
    • Flexible in working hours/Shifts 
    • Computer Literacy, SAP will be an advantage
    • Three or more years of experience in a private hospital preferred
    • A good understanding of mental illness
    • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation

    Rehab Technician - Umhlanga

    REHAB TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Obtaining patients' personal information and updating medical histories.
    • Assisting patients to reach examination and treatment rooms.
    • Conducting initial assessments and basic diagnostic tests.
    • Performing treatments under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists, such as massage therapy and electric muscle stimulation.

    Theatre Stock Controller

    KNOWLEDGE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Daily stock counts, reconciliations and relevant documentation.
    • Reconciliation of schedule drug books and ensure accurate daily charging of all items.
    • Daily billing of all charge sheets including accurate billing of miscellaneous charges.
    • Assist in the effective management of labour hours through adhering to all La Lucia Healthcare policies with respect to personal time and attendance.

    Virologist

    VIROLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collecting samples for study.
    • Employing highly specialized serological and molecular techniques in order to study viruses.
    • Identifying different viruses and their properties, through microscopic examination.
    • Observing the effect viruses have on organic matter by studying the impact of the viral infection on living tissues of humans and animals.
    • Performing chemical analyses on substances released by viruses when they interact with organic matter, such as acids, enzymes, and alcohol secretions.

    • 3 to 5 years’ postdoctoral research experience in the field.
    • Working knowledge of scientific and medical software such as BD CellQuest, and Protein Explorer.
    • Experience using laboratory equipment and tools, including air samplers or collectors, infrared spectrometers, analyzing equipment, and sterilizing equipment.
    • Experience collecting and analyzing large volumes of data.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
