Requirements to apply?

• Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

• 5 years’ experience in:

  • Data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL and analytical tools.

  • ETL processes, data warehouse modelling

  • Experience in cloud data warehousing

  • Integrating with BI Reporting Tools

  • MS SQL Server or Oracle (preferably both)

  • Normalised and denormalised database design

  • Architecting data warehouse solutions and integrating technical components

  • Design and implementation of data warehouse environment

• Applies broad knowledge of technology options, technology platforms, design techniques, and approaches across the data warehouse life cycle phases to design an integrated solution to address business requirements.

• Building large scale databases

• Data modelling (Data Vault 2.0 and Star Schema), data management, ETL and BI

• Perform ongoing monitoring, automation and refinement of BI solutions.

• Work with BI Management to identify and resolve data related issues.

• Work with business departmental teams to help them define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports.

• Participate in process reviews and enhancements.

• Provide analysis and issue resolution on business reported concerns.

• Participate in design and delivery of dashboards and various self-service business intelligence solutions.

• Contributes to the designs and plans for the integration for all data warehouse technical components.

• Contributes to the design, automation, and acquisition, transformation and data loading processes in a high volume, high availability data warehouse environment

• Manages the automation and operations of the data warehousing loading process

• Contributes to the design of the data warehouse architecture

• Provides production support to solve immediate problems and keeps databases in production

• Analyses information requirements of customers and supports teams and determines the best technical solutions

• Collaborates with business and technical partners to understand and evaluate their needs for data from the data warehouse.

• Technical implementation of the data warehouse

• Reviews and participates in testing of the data design, tool design, data extracts

• Optimisation, support and maintenance of the data warehouse environment

• Mentors team members in the delivery of services and problem resolution

• Extract & analyse historical data and maximise derived value through applying advanced models.

• Using Machine Learning and Optimisation techniques to our data with the ultimate aim of improving our processes

• Design tests to evaluate hypotheses

• Communicate insights, results and analyses to stakeholders

Our requirements to apply?

• A degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Physics or Engineering

• 2- 4 years’ experience in either a data science, software dev or quantitative analysis role working with some of these skills:

  • SQL, Relational DBMS and data modelling

  • Numerical packages like R, Python with SciPy, SPSS or SAS

  • Software development in backend stacks such as C#, C++ or Java

  • Advanced data analysis skills in Excel (e.g. data aggregation, visualisation and pivot tables)

  • Applied statistics or machine learning methods e.g. Neural Networks, Decision Trees, Time Series Analyses, Clustering

  • Optimisation Techniques e.g. Linear Programming, Genetic Algorithms, Simulated Annealing

  • Big Data processing platforms like Hadoop or Spark
