Senior Systems Administrator 

Our client is one of the leading energy companies in Africa. They strive for a great company culture built on teamwork and taking care of the hard-working people that make up their very dynamic business. They are actively looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join their team in Cape Town.

You will be responsible for performing an administrator role and supporting all Microsoft technologies, including MS Exchange, Windows Server, VMWare virtualization, UCS Blade Server and Storage technologies. To apply, you need to have a Diploma in Information Systems or equivalent, an MCSA/MCSE certification and an ITIL certification coupled with 10+ years’ working experience in Windows Server administration, including thorough knowledge of Active Directory management.

You need to have 5 – 10 years’ working experience and proficiency in Microsoft Exchange 2013/2019 administration and troubleshooting in a large-scale, enterprise multi-site environment.

You also need to have experience and/or knowledge of the following technologies:

• VMWare ESX;
• SCCM and SCOM;
• Collaboration tools like Skype for Business and Teams;
• Enterprise Antivirus;
• Compliance and Vulnerability Management;
• Server Patch and Release Management;
• PowerShell scripting;
• SAN;
• ADFS and Certificate Authority;
• Citrix; and,
• Enterprise Backup and Recovery.

On the softer side, you must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage projects and meet deadlines. Advanced written, verbal, interpersonal and relationship management skills are vital for this role.

The Role

Our client is a giant in the financial services field and they have an exciting opportunity for you to join their ambitious, hard-working IT family on their latest projects.

They are actively looking for a .Net Technical Architect to take accountability for building world-class financial products for a mobile-native generation. You will be driving the architecture of cloud-native .Net platforms championing the development of resilient, highly available and scalable applications and services.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Leading the architecture design, development and deployment of cloud-native applications;
• Participating and collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery;
• Leading the establishment of .Net development standards;
• Ensuring that secure and robust coding practises being adhered to;
• Ensuring that the solutions developed are highly available, scalable, maintainable and cost optimised;
• Participating in technology research to drive platform innovation; and,
• Ensuring that the relevant architecture documentation is always up to date.

To apply, you need to have recognised Cloud and/or Architecture certifications coupled with at least 10 years’ experience in C#/.Net and SQL architecting large scale applications and APIs. You need at least 5 years’ experience in applying enterprise design and integration patterns.

You also need implementation experience in .Net Core, experience in architecting and developing cloud-native applications and experience in creating and maintaining DevOps pipelines.

It will be advantageous if you have:

• A Degree or relevant tertiary qualification;
• Experience with NoSQL; and,
• Experience in the financial services industry.

On the softer side, you need to be a team player capable of working cross-functionally, have the willingness to extend yourself and assist other team members, and have the natural ability to think conceptually and understand complex situations.
