    Specialist Social Economic Development - Richards Bay

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    • Develop and execute the community investment and local stakeholder engagement strategy at site, aligned with legal requirements and South32 objectives.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Development Studies/Social sciences with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in Socio Economic Development within a mining and metals environment;
    • Experience with the execution of Community Projects is essential;
    • Experience in impact measurement of community projects is essential;
    • Experience working with key community and relevant stakeholders is essential;
    • Knowledge and familiarity with B-BBEE social development regulations is essential;
    • Experience in communications is advantageous.

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Manage and execute community development projects to enhance South32's license to operate in line with regulatory and voluntary requirements as well as South32 processes and procedures;
    • Manage and execute the impact measurement framework for community investment projects with community partners;
    • Provide input to legally required  reporting impacting community (e.g. Transformation);
    • Provide guidance and advice to Operation employees to ensure compliance with Community and BBBEE legislation at the Operation;
    • Provide input to Operation stakeholder engagement plans;
    • Build and maintain relationships with key community and other local stakeholders;
    • Represent South32 in local community forums;
    • Develop and maintain understanding of community / local stakeholder perception and advise management on mitigation strategies for any risks;
    • Monitor and manage community complaints;
    • Provide regular reports of activities and risks to the Manager Corporate Affairs at the Operation.

    Specialist Transformation - South32, Hotazel Manganese Mines

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    • The purpose of this role is to Purpose to effectively support the management, monitoring and tracking of all Transformation activities, plans and expenditure for HMM operations whilst ensuring that all related risks are adequately managed and mitigated.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have a National Diploma or Bachelors in Human Resource Management, Training Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or Labour Relations Law;
    • Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience;
    • Specialist knowledge in Transformation (Employment Equity, Enterprise Development and Supplier Development, Local Economic Development, Human
    • Resource Development);
    • Experience in SAP would be preferred;
    • Experience with working in teams in a high paced environment;
    • Knowledge of internal control environment and regulatory requirements;
    • Microsoft Office suite (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word).

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Capture all administrative duties on legislative reporting on Mining charter reports, Annual SLP reports, B-BBEE Commission reports assigned to them;
    • Monitor and consolidate all the B-BBEE reports shared by various element owners during the audit;
    • Consolidate all the Mining Charter reports shared by various element owners during the reporting cycle;
    • Consolidate all the SLP implementation and annual reports shared by various element owners during the reporting cycle;
    • Consolidate all HMM B-BBEE Commission reports shared by various element owners including Hillside.
    • Create purchase requisition for all new Transformation related service providers;
    • Effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Support by performing processing activities to ensure Service Level Agreements are met, as well as knowledge of processing is current;
    • Liaise internally with the Transformation and Diversity committee (Develop Agenda slides, Capturing minutes and sharing same).
