Job Purpose
Head of Department
- The HOD must manage the department effectively and efficiently in line with the CPUT policies and procedures specifically but not limited to (i) academic project management; (ii) research management; (iii) HR and staff management; (iv) financial management; and (v) student management.
Senior Lecturer

Job Purpose
- The successful candidate will be responsible for curriculum development, supervision of postgraduate students, lecturing and involvement in research in the related field of Computer Science and Information Technology and running the day-to day affairs of Information Technology Department. Job Purpose
New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) Context
- This post is in line with the New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP), which is part of the Staffing South Africa's Universities Framework (SSAUF) - it is a national and sector response towards addressing challenges in the South African Higher Education system in respect of size, composition and capacity of its academic staff.
- The SSAUF intends to identify and nurture academic talent early in the academic development trajectory, and to support newly recruited academics to develop teaching expertise; develop research skills, including scientific publication skills.
- The new generation of academics programme (nGAP), comprising one element of the SSAUF, involves the recruitment of highly capable scholars as new academics.
