• 12 year olA family is looking for an AU PAIR for their son aged 12 years old 
• Area: Higgovale 
• Ages: son aged 12 years old (hyperactivity and attention deficit)
• Neurodivergence Snapshot & Support Style: good student, struggles to stay still and concentrate for long periods of time if he is not interested in a topic, struggles with his handwriting, takes medication to go to school, but the products fades by 13h00 and he does not take anything to do his homework.
• Au Pair will need to find ways to keep him engaged. He likes to have regular breaks when studying at home (playing soccer in the garden or having times to play video games), make a game of some of the work as he responds well to that and he needs clear guidelines/boundaries, and regular schedules, helping in preparing for the next day.  
• Working hours: Monday – Thursday: 14h30 – 17h30 and Friday: 13h00 – 15h00
• School holiday hours: Usually in the afternoons but to be confirmed prior to each holiday period. Family usually also go away for 3 weeks during December holidays and sometimes also in July
• Duties: Son has ADHD - he does not have academic difficulties, he is ADHD and struggles paying attention (generally), particularly to topics that he is not very interested in.
• The candidate will be responsible for making sure he has all he needs to go to school (stationary, uniform, correct books etc), collecting from school, homework supervision and assistance, exam prep, ensuring he is on top of his work (sometimes he does not finish all the work in class, or books are very messy), taking him to his extra-mural activities (soccer or drumming), participating in lift clubs with his friends (to go to soccer for example), taking part in communication with the school to make sure he gets the support his needs.
• During school holidays, collections from soccer clinics or other activities organised, do a bit of academic revisions, play outside, drop him off or collect from friends/activities.
• Requirements:  Easy going and fun, but can set clear boundaries, experience with pre-teen/teen kids, keen to learn about working with ADHD kids
• Start date:  July 2026 start – permanent contract
• Salary: R8000 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)
