    Accounting Officer

    You will have the opportunity to perform all activities related to the accounting function, which may include the following:

    • Capture transactions in accounting records
    • Perform reconciliations
    • Perform bookkeeping to balance sheets and trial balances
    • Prepare financial statements
    • Perform tax calculations and complete tax returns
    • Complete VAT returns
    • Perform general accounting functions according to PwC methodologies
    • Perform secretarial services
    • Engage with PwC clients to assist them with accounting matters

    Requirements

    What are we looking for?

    • A completed or partially completed financial accounting degree at a SAIPA accredited university with the intention to qualify as a professional accountant.
    • Great communication and interpersonal skills, and fluency in English—the ability to communicate in Afrikaans is advantageous
    • Computer literacy, with knowledge of Pastel, MS Word and MS Excel.

    Audit Of Tax Senior Associate

    Role Summary: 

    • PwC is seeking a Durban-based tax professional with experience in general corporate tax consulting, including audit of tax, tax compliance and general tax advisory services. 

    Qualifications / Certifications required: 

    • BCom degree, majoring in Accounting, Financial Accounting or Law (mandatory) 
    • CA(SA), SAIT or admitted attorney (mandatory) 
    • Post-graduate tax qualification (preferred)

    Experience required: 

    • At least one year post-article/post-SAIT practical experience working in a tax advisory environment (mandatory)  

    Responsibilities of role: 

    • Perform audit of tax reviews (tax accrual reviews) from a corporate tax perspective, in support of the assessment of the income tax balance on financial statements. This would include both income tax and deferred tax aspects; 
    • Preparation and review of corporate tax accounting assignments; 
    • Preparation and review of corporate tax compliance assignments, including preparation, review and submission of income tax and provisional tax returns; 
    • Drafting of tax opinions and/or structuring decks on the tax implications of inter alia business transaction, restructures and alternative courses of actions; 
    • Corporate tax due diligence projects; 
    • Research of complex tax issues; 
    • Interpretation of tax legislation; 
    • Liaising with SARS and addressing queries raised by SARS; and 
    • Building, growing and maintaining business relationships with clients, assurance teams and other stakeholders.

    EQP Manager

    Role Summary

    As a Project Manager in our EPQ internal consulting team your impact will be seen by: 

    • Designing and facilitating workshops involving a broad range of internal or external customers to ensure end-to-end customer experience and performance improvement strategies meet requirements 
    • Driving the EPQ change maker community to ensure continuous implementation and adoption of EPQ principles within the Assurance practice; and to provide focus to this community to support the achievement of the EPQ strategic objectives 
    • Improving the processes that underpin Assurance engagements by assessing problems, then co-developing solutions to benefit PwC audit engagement teams 
    • Executing special projects as needed in support of the EPQ programme and managing team content and product development 
    • Educating and sharing best practices with the Assurance practice and business leaders in relation to the project planning and execution of their audits 

    Key Accountabilities:  

    • Ensure the successful implementation of the EPQ strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.  
    • Monitor EPQ KPI reporting and assist the EPQ Senior Manager in reporting to business leaders.
