    Bell Logger Operator

    Job Summary

    • This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Bell logging equipment at the sawmill, including daily equipment inspections, manoeuvring machinery in tight spaces, and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings while coordinating with team members to support safe and productive operations.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Conduct daily pre‑operation checks, including fuel, engine oil, and hydraulic oil levels and a full 360‑degree equipment inspection to ensure safe operation
    • Safely operate Bell logging and related heavy machinery while navigating tight spaces within the sawmill premises
    • Manage and manoeuvre logs on site, including sorting timber, maintaining continuous log flow, and feeding the mill’s production line
    • Load and unload trucks as required
    • Remain alert at all times, coordinating with team members and responding to hand signals to support safe and efficient operations
    • Perform daily machine maintenance and report any defects or safety concerns

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Experience within a sawmill or forestry industry
    • Experience on agricultural equipment and vehicles (such as Bell 225 Loggers)
    • Valid Bell Logger Certificate
    • Valid Driver’s License (Code 08)
    • Able to safely operate heavy equipment
    • Good communication skills
    • Good listener and verbal communicator
    • Ability to work effectively within a team
    • Good organising skills

    Job Summary

    • This role involves providing financial and administrative support by handling daily invoicing, capturing payments, performing reconciliations, managing deposit allocations, and assisting with month-end processes to ensure accurate and efficient finance operations.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Process invoices, payments and reimbursements
    • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
    • Manage accounts receivable and payable
    • Perform bank, account and asset reconciliations
    • Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
    • Prepare financial reports and management summaries
    • Monitor budgets and financial performance
    • Ensure compliance with financial policies and audit requirements
    • Assist with asset management and record-keeping
    • Liaise with suppliers, clients, auditors and internal stakeholders
    • Maintain filing systems and financial databases
    • Support efficient financial administration processes

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Finance or Accounting qualification (advantageous)
    • 1–2 years’ financial administration experience
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Knowledge of financial processes and reconciliations
    • Strong mathematical, organisational and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Reliable, adaptable and able to work in a team
