    Aftermarket Sales Engineer

    Job Summary:

    • The Aftermarket Sales Engineer plays a critical role in promoting and selling water industry products and services to customers. This position involves identifying potential customers, conducting sales presentations, and negotiating contracts.
    • The Aftermarket Sales Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to address customer needs, perform market analysis, and implement sales strategies. Additionally, this role involves maintaining strong customer relationships and providing excellent customer service.
    • Strong sales skills, a thorough understanding of the water industry, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

    Responsibilities:

    • Act as a brand ambassador for Xylem’s Lifecycle Service Department. The successful incumbent is required to contribute to the Rental Departments performance and sustainability by engaging energetically in the following tasks.  The list is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time. 
    • Present the departments value proposition to the market.
    • Conduct market research and development with a view to grow rental revenues.  
    • Market development in relevant industrial sectors.
    • Build long term relationships with key customers.
    • Contribute to the running of, and moral of the team.

    • Completed Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
    • Completed Technical qualification with exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience and exposure in the pump industry.
    • Minimum of 5 years technical customer facing sales experience, preferably in a solutions-based Rental and Aftermarket position.
    • Extensive knowledge of pumps, pumping systems, and preventative maintenance practices.
    • Able to size pumping equipment based on site conditions and installation type.
    • Competent in the MS-Office suite of products.
    • Proficiency in sales tools and software (e.g., SalesForce, CRM systems).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams.
    • Ability to travel as and when required.

    Metering Sales Manager

    Job Summary:

    • The Metering Sales Manager is responsible for managing the overall sales activities within the organization. This role involves leading a team of sales professionals, developing and implementing sales strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • The Metering Sales Manager conducts regular sales meetings, reviews sales data, and collaborates with other departments to address customer needs and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing sales documentation, providing training and development opportunities for staff, and reporting on sales performance to senior management.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Training and Development

    • Conduct training sessions for new sales team members
    • Create and implement ongoing training programs for current sales staff

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in water metering with at least 2 year people leader experience within similar industry.
    • Experience dealing with utilities and/or municipalities.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
    • Proficiency in sales tools and software (e.g., SalesForce, CRM systems, SAP).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams.
    • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
    • Knowledge of market research and competitive analysis techniques.

    Field Service Technician – LCS Millwright

    Job Summary:

    • The role will be responsible for initiating and executing field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner. This role works with more advanced and multi/complex systems, proactively troubleshoots systems, works with mechanical, electrical, diesel equipment conditions, conducts preventative maintenance and parts inventory, and anticipates and corrects safety issues (both Company and Customer owned equipment). Has direct interfacing with customer and may be responsible for work in multiple systems/locations/customers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Carry out professional service and emergency repair work on pumping and associated equipment at the customers’ premises and at the workshop.
    • Maintain all relevant documentation and reports for work undertaken, consistent with company policies and quality assurance procedures.
    • Maintaining working environment and vehicle so that it conforms to all necessary ESH requirements.
    • On-site commissioning and control panel settings to application requirements.
    • Inspect and test products prior to dispatch to customers.
    • Maintain service records using written records for future reference and to comply with all Quality Assurance Procedures.
    • Provide timely and accurate advice and feedback to support staff and customers on service and product related issues both orally and in writing where required.
    • Participate in departmental meetings and provide input on rental activities.
    • Actively participate in audits for QA and ESH systems and practices.
    • Perform standby duties.

    • National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
    • Qualified Millwright with exposure to diesel engines.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, of which 3 years must be in a customer facing field service environment.
    • Exposure to 400V control systems essential. Exposure to auto electrical control circuits will be beneficial.
    • Proficient in the MS office suite of programs.
    • Exposure to CAT, Perkins, and Volvo industrial engines.
    • Valid driver’s licence Code 08 or higher.
    • Valid passports and willingness to travel.
