    IT Manager

    • We are currently looking for a IT Manager. As the head of the IT department, and an employee responsible for company-wide systems and information, your role exists to translate and deliver strategic intent into operational execution for all technology-related requirements.
    • With technology playing an increasingly important role in the development and success of modern retail businesses, it is essential that the ideal candidate lead technology enhancements, development and operations within JAM Clothing.
    • This position will be based at our head office in Durban.

    Criteria:

    • A completed degree or diploma in Computer Science or relevant technical field.
    • Minimum 15 years' experience in IT industry and 5 years in a management role.
    • Experience working in a retail environment.
    • Proven track record in delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
    • Effective management and negotiation with Service Providers.
    • People management.

    Preferred skills and experience in the following areas:

    • Active Directory.
    • Veeam Backup and Replication.
    • 3CX configurations.
    • Cisco configurations.
    • Hyper-V Manager
    • Windows server management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Translate business strategy into tactical IT strategies to address key business requirements, drive capability and produce delivery roadmaps and associated domain architecture.
    • Contribute to the development of the IT strategy.
    • Actively engage with internal stakeholders to interpret business IT requirements while providing expert consultation, guidance and advice.
    • Plan, implement and evaluate IT service delivery and project requirements in specific areas of the business to align with the standard service agreements set.
    • Develop a departmental budget and monitor/control spend in order to deliver on set IT strategy.
    • Collaborate with finance to ensure financial feasibility where there are departmental/project overlaps.
    • Keep abreast of legislative requirements and best practices (such as RICA, POPI and ECT Act) to highlight risks to the business and always ensure compliance.
    • Track, monitor and manage IT audits and risk management across the respective portfolios.
    • Ensure that the workload within the team is distributed fairly and in line with the team's priorities and skills to deliver on departmental KPI's / targets.
    • Keep abreast of talent pool internally and externally to contribute to the recruitment of top talent in the team.
    • Drive succession, training and development within the team to ensure resource capability and business continuity.
    • Manage related IT Service Providers and contractors, including activities such as selecting providers, negotiating contracts, controlling costs, reducing third party-related risks and ensuring service delivery maintained
    • Always ensure that, the technology landscape within the realm of control is secure and, as far as possible safe from any external hacking or phishing attacks that could cause reputational damage and or information leakage.

    IT Technician

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide front-line support for technical issues involving computer systems, software applications, networks, and hardware.
    • Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site and remotely, ensuring a high level of user satisfaction.
    • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system.
    • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources.
    • Conduct regular audits of IT equipment to ensure assets are well-documented, updated, and in working order.
    • Assist with maintaining compliance with relevant data security and protection policies.
    • Execute regular system checks, updates, backups, backup-checks and patches to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Utilize exceptional fault-finding and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges efficiently.
    • Liaise with IT vendors, including hardware and software suppliers, to resolve technical issues.
    • Assist with onboarding new employees by setting up accounts, workstations, updated and in working order.

    Requirements:

    • Matric/Grade 12.
    • 5-7 years of IT Technical Experience.
    • CompTIA A+ certification
    • Network+ Certificate
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Dolfin POS experience
    • Good hardware and end user application skills.
    • Willingness to travel and overnight across South Africa.
    • Willingness to work outside of office hours.
