    Electrical Technician (Mpumalanga - Secunda)

    Description

    • Implement the unit operations plan by understanding key activities, projects, and performance indicators; communicating objectives to relevant stakeholders; and monitoring execution on a daily basis.   
    • Report on performance by tracking unit outcomes against targets, identifying progress and areas of concern, and submitting them quarterly or as required.
    • Drive effective utilisation and continuous development of unit systems. 
    • Manage the delivery of instrumentation production and maintenance activities by planning and coordinating tasks, optimising processes and quality, resolving delays and issues, and ensuring delivery meets targets and performance standards. 
    • Respond to shift emergencies by identifying and evaluating critical issues, prioritising actions to ensure safety and restore production, minimising downtime and risks, and managing implementation and reporting as required. 
    • Maintain technical expertise in production and instrumentation maintenance by attending training, participating in forums, reviewing and sharing relevant publications, engaging with industry experts, and recommending improvements. 
    • Conduct and identify faults, diagnosing root causes, carrying out repairs, verifying functionality, and finalising job documentation on time. 
    • Serve as a subject matter expert by coaching and mentoring team members to build technical capability, drive performance, and support knowledge sharing across the team.

    Administrator Production (Mpumalanga - Secunda)

    Description

    • Coordinate and support the management team by developing and maintaining the department’s annual and monthly calendars, updating diaries, scheduling relevant training and compliance activities, and managing meeting requests in alignment with managerial priorities daily. 
    • File all documentation by designing and maintaining an effective filing structure, applying consistent filing protocols, and ensuring timely storage of both softcopy and hardcopy documents each day. 
    • Compile reports and presentations by gathering data and team inputs, completing required templates, reviewing content for accuracy and relevance, and coordinating the development of recommendations monthly and as needed. 
    • Coordinate and administer meetings by scheduling sessions, preparing agendas and supporting documents, drafting minutes and action lists, distributing materials, maintaining confidentiality, and filing records within required timeframes. 
    • Coordinate all departmental travel by sourcing travel and accommodation options (flights, hotel, car hire, etc.), completing bookings, preparing and submitting required documentation, and ensuring distribution of all travel-related materials at least 24 hours prior to departure. 
    • Coordinate internal and external events by receiving the event brief, sourcing venues, managing logistical and technical requirements, coordinating budgets and special requests, securing necessary approvals, supervising service providers, and ensuring successful execution by the defined deadline. 
    • ·Provide additional office administration support, including procurement and SAP-related tasks, by following instructions, executing tasks accurately, and delivering timely feedback to ensure operational standards are met. 
    • Ensure effective implementation of SHE by delivering comprehensive training, completing training programs, and addressing any identified gaps or non-compliance. 
    • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by facilitating regular communication, exchanging feedback, and supporting collaboration.

    Safety Compliance Coordinator (Mpumalanga - Secunda)

    Description

    Operational Safety Assurance

    • Conduct daily assurance reviews of critical operational activities across manufacturing and operational sites.
    • Verify compliance with safety systems including Permit to Work (PTW), operational alarms, and Operations Within Agreed Parameters (OWAP).
    • Perform field verification and audits to ensure the safe execution of high-risk tasks.

    Process Safety Management (PSM)

    • Support the implementation and assurance of all PSM elements across manufacturing, sales, and mining services operations.
    • Monitor and verify adherence to Management of Change (MOC) processes.
    • Ensure process safety information and critical safety controls remain current and effective.
    • Assist MHI sites with compliance to MHI requirements.

    Risk and Incident Prevention

    • Analyse process hazard assessments, and process near-miss reports to identify trends, root causes, and preventative actions.
    • Drive proactive risk identification and control implementation to prevent incidents and operational disruptions.

    Compliance and Governance

    • Ensure compliance with (MIPP) Major Incidents Prevention policy, regulatory requirements, and explosives management standards.
    • Support operational compliance through inspections, audits, and verification of Process Safety Critical Equipment (PSCE).
    • Provide structured reporting on leading safety indicators and operational risk exposure.

    Contractor and Workforce Safety

    • Support contractor onboarding, safety prequalification, and site supervision to ensure the safe execution of contracted work.
    • Promote a strong field safety presence through observations, engagement with operators, and verification of safe work practices.

    SHE Operational Support

    • Provide SHE standby oversight where required to ensure compliance with regulatory working-hour requirements.
    • Support operational leadership with safety assurance and risk mitigation activities across all supported sites including MHI sites.
    • Ensure effective implementation of SHE by delivering comprehensive training, completing training programs, and addressing any identified gaps or non-compliance.
    • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by facilitating regular communication, exchanging feedback, and supporting collaboration.

    Requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Diploma or B Tech in chemical engineering, similar
    • 5 years + experience in process safety management including PSM auditing
