    Head Of Faculty: Education

    Job Description

    • SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.
    • SACAP is looking to permanently employ a Head of Faculty for Education.
    • This role is responsible for leading the establishment and strategic development of SACAP’s new Faculty of Education.
    • The Head of Faculty for Education is responsible for providing academic and strategic leadership, ensuring the effective functioning of the faculty, and overseeing the development, implementation, and quality assurance of academic programmes.
    • The role requires a strong commitment to excellence and community engagement, as well as the alignment of faculty operations with institutional strategic objectives.

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

    • Establishing SACAP’s new Faculty of Education
    • Provide leadership in faculty strategy, academic planning, and quality assurance.
    • Ensure alignment with institutional goals, national education policies, and accreditation requirements.
    • Drive innovation and excellence in scholarship and research.
    • Foster strong industry and community engagement.
    • Oversee faculty operations

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A relevant doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualification.
    • Extensive experience in academic leadership and management.
    • Strong background in higher education governance, policy, and accreditation.
    • Experience in curriculum development, quality assurance, and programme accreditation.
    • Proven track record in research, innovation, and industry collaboration.
    • Understanding of national education policies and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CHE).
    • Financial and human resource management experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    Academic Support Advisor (Online Campus)

    Job Description

    • SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.
    • SACAP is looking to employ an Academic Support Advisor for the Online Campus.
    • This role will provide a full range of academic support and development services to ensure students are empowered to realize their academic success. The role will also connect students’ academic interests with their personal and career ambitions.
    • This role strongly liaises with the Student Administration team, the Academic team and reports directly to the Academic Support Manager.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Providing academic support and development to SACAP’s students
    • Acting as a point of contact for all academic support and development needs
    • Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
    • Involved in termly orientation per new cohort
    • Monitoring student academic performance and engagement
    • Tracking and documenting national academic support and development metrics
    • Study plans and career guidance
    • Academic one-on-one counselling
    • Awareness / advocacy campaigns re: academic issues
    • Facilitating peer support and peer-assisted learning
    • Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention.
    • Utilizing SACAP’s Student Management System in order to provide expert guidance to SACAP students.

    QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES

    • A minimum of an Honours Degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology, Coaching, Business Management, Leadership; or at least 5-years’ experience in a cognate field with high academic results
    • Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
    • 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education

    Programme Coordinator (Johannesburg Campus)

    Job Description

    • SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online. 
    • SACAP is seeking a Programme Coordinator for our Johannesburg Campus.
    • The Programme Coordinator is a full-time position for the Johannesburg Campus. This role will be responsible for the programme coordination of the Professional (BPsych, BPsych Equivalent) and Honours programmes.
    • The Programme Coordinator should be fuelled by a sense of the critical role which Higher Education plays in South Africa and the importance of responsible scholarship within this context. SACAP’s Programme Coordinator should be committed to the highest standards of academic integrity as well as professional and ethical conduct in all activities.
    • The Programme Coordinator should be familiar with all new developments within the discipline of Psychology and their application to SACAP’s Professional and Honours Programmes.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • A Bpsych or Bpsych Equivalent degree
    • A minimum of 5 years Registration with the HPCSA.
    • Preferably hold a Masters qualification in a cognate field
    • An interest in Higher Education.
    • Strong leadership competencies.
    • 1-3 years teaching and/or supervision experience in Higher Education and/or a professional organisation.

    Full-Time Educator (Durban Campus)

    Job Description

    • SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.
    • SACAP is looking for a full-time Educator to form part of the Academic team at SACAP Durban Campus. The Educator will be responsible for teaching five modules per term and building a community of practice with part-time educators, teaching modules within the Applied Psychology Faculty as part of the curriculum at SACAP.

    Responsibilities:

    The candidate will be required to perform various functions that would include:

    • Teaching five modules per term
    • Quality Assurance of the delivery of a portfolio of modules and their associated part-time educators by building a community of practice to support educators
    • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to assist Learning Designers and Curriculum Developers
    • Contribute to the development and enhancement of campus culture amongst part-time educators.
    • Be an active member of the Research and Ethics Committee

    The role will report directly to the Head of Learning and Teaching: Physical Campuses.                                

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum qualification of a Registered Counsellor with a HPCSA registration
    • Master’s degree in Psychology with professional registration with the HPCSA will be an advantage
    • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Higher Education, particularly within a blended-learning context
    • Technologically savvy
    • Strong academic writing skills
    • Experience with curriculum development
    • Exceptional organisational, management, and leadership skills
    • Understanding of the higher education landscape in South Africa
