Job Description
- To lead and drive the Placement and Premises Functions for the Real Estate Services Function within South Africa to ensure alignment and realisation of the Client Segments and Solutions strategies, ensuring that the footprint across all provinces within SA provides the organisation with a competitive advantage against which the strategies can be executed. Provide expert advice and influence provinces on distribution decisions.
- Establish key relationships with Provincial stakeholders across SA.
Qualifications
A Degree in either the following:
- Business Commerce
- Civil Engineering
- Construction and Physical Planning
Experience Required:
- 8-10 years experience in placement and distribution within a Retail context. Experience in determining and implementing locations within retail.
- Experience in specific placement models. Experience in preparing business cases taking into account the organisation’s broader strategies and placement and distribution strategies and action plans.
- Experience in Retail and Business Banking, including the interfaces between Relationship and Non-Relationship banking.

Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire information on Points of Representation and ATMs from landlords, new developers, business intelligence and field work as well as any sources of data in order to perform specialist analysis and make recommendations to Provincial Directors, Local Market Area Managers and other Business Operations resources within the respective provinces.
- Apply building and construction project management skills to carry out and oversee the project management disciplines and functions across the provinces, to ensure provision of the required level of service to SBSA Client Segments, in that all projects are completed on time, within budget and according to quality standards specifications, in line with current Corporate Identity standards.
- Assume responsibility as Retail Property Distribution Manager within South Africa to ensure that from a property perspective the POR’s are in a good operational condition as well as meeting the base line requirements of the CI and marketing needs to ensure Client Segments and Client Solution can operate effectively from them and achieve the strategic objectives.
- Compile detailed business cases in respect of the branch networks for approval by Client Segments Exco's, Provincial Heads and Area Managers in order to influence and prioritise strategic decisions.
- Conduct assessments to optimise the network using the Optimisation Framework in order to provide professional services on Placement and Premises within South Africa.
- Determine the type/model of ATM to be used and the type of installation to ensure that the ATM can be installed in the site identified. Provide specialist advice and guidance to the relevant stakeholders.

Job Description
The key purpose of this job is to ensure that the validation requirements for the above areas are met. To validate mathematical and statistical models used within Counterparty Credit Risk, Market Risk and the Global Markets space for the Standard Bank Group, including relevant trading models in Liberty.
- Perform initial and ongoing validations of internally and externally developed Counterparty Credit Risk, Market Risk and Global Markets Trading models. Formulate detailed understanding of the model specification and related data requirements.
- Research and develop an independent/challenger model to use as the reference model. Collate validation results in a technical report. Make conclusions on the validation outcome, as well as model risk, of the model being validated. Identify weaknesses in the model and formulate appropriate recommendations that will address the identified model weaknesses.
- Interact with Model Development to obtain additional clarity on the models that are being validated. Determine which aspects of the model require more clarity. Arrange and attend meetings and discussions with Model Development. Interaction with Model Owners and Business may also be required.
Qualifications
- Honours Degree in either Financial Mathematics; Quantitative Risk Management; Statistics; Engineering; Mathematical Sciences or Physics
- Masters Degree in either Financial Mathematics; Quantitative Risk Management; Statistics; Engineering; Mathematical Sciences or Physic
Experience Required
- 2-4 years' experience as an Analyst in a bank’s risk management, model development or model validation function. Demonstrable ability to develop mathematical models. Complex mathematical problems need to be solved in this role. In most cases, the jobholder would need to perform additional research and engage with internal stakeholders to determine in appropriateness of a particular model.
- 3-5 years' experience with programming tools such as Python, Matlab.
- 3-5 years proven understanding of regulations affecting banking, especially impacting risk modelling
- 2-4 years experience in Model risk management practices in banking spanning data preparation, development, documentation, validation, approval, usage and monitoring.

Key responsibilities:
