    Tufting Creeler

    Key Accountabilities and Outputs:

    • Perform Creel changes circular, according to set sequence or as per the correct number.
    • Ensure that machines are creeled / de-creeled timeously - Monitor production OEE within targeted parameters.
    • Be able to answer to and account for any creeling or de creeling faults.
    • Ensure that all processes, recipes, and production specifications are documented into required SOP and process flow formats and stored centrally as per agreed document management system.
    • Ensure the most up to date SOPs and transactional documentation are followed to ensure consistency of process.
    • Perform all shift activities that ensure compliance with applicable safety, health and environment legislation and audit requirements.
    • Clean the Tufting department to ensure that housekeeping standards are always maintained. 
    • Ensure housekeeping is kept to 5S standards.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 / Matric with Maths is essential
    • CTFL Learnership or 1 year's relevant production experience in Tufting is essential.
    • Ability and skill to creel and de creel the tufting machine according to quality standards and product specifications is an advantage.
    • Must not be colour blind.
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001,18001 is an advantage.
    • System and application knowledge e.g. 5S, CAMS.
    • The incumbent requires significant technical knowledge and experience (minimum 1 years) in Tufting production.

    Masterbatch Operator

    Key Accountabilities and Outputs:

    Production Management – Deep Focus

    • Run Machines to produce product to achieve the shift production plan (volumes across all the machines) ensuring product specifications and quality standards are adhered to.  This including:

    Extrusion

    • Ensure raw material is correct and loaded correctly into gravimetric dosing unit.
    • Setting up and operation of gravimetric dosing unit.
    • Operation of extrusion lines with correct temp and speeds to produce good quality product, efficiently, with the least amount of waste.

    Tumbling:

    • To load tumbler with masterbatch via a hoist. Always ensure tumbler is clean before loading masterbatch.
    • After masterbatch is tumbled, for a set time, to empty the masterbatch from the tumbler into cardboard drums.

    Weighing and labeling:

    • To weigh all drums/bags of product with the aid of a scale.
    • To correctly label all drums/bags.
    • Perform Colour/Product changeovers.
    • Monitor production OEE within targeted parameters, document any downtime on the machines and take corrective action to ensure that machines downtime is minimized.
    • Work with the Manager to keep him informed of any maintenance and repair issues that may impact downtime now or in the future this includes:
    • Defects in the air lines
    • Electrical issues
    • Mechanical issues

    Production Metrics

    • Track all production made during the shift against the production plan

    Stakeholder relationships

    • Attend daily shift team briefings and relay critical information to the Production Manager to be constantly updated of issues requiring attention.
    • Constantly update the Production Manager on quality standards and product specific issues during the shift
    • Work with the other shift operators to implement solutions to quality defects or product specification issues detected.

    Reporting and Documentation

    • Ensure that all processes, recipes, and production specifications are documented into required SOP and process flow formats and stored centrally as per agreed document management system.
    • Ensure the most up to date SOPs and transactional documentation are followed to ensure consistency of process.
    • Work with the Production Manager to implement continuous improvement processes to improve output, reduce variability and manage operational constraints.

    Safety, Health, Environment – We Tread Softly

    • Perform all shift activities that ensure compliance with applicable safety, health and environment legislation and audit requirements
    • Report any safety defects to the Production Manager.
    • Clean the department to ensure that housekeeping standards are always maintained
    • Ensure housekeeping is kept to 5S standard
    • Ensure machines and areas around the machines are always kept clean
    • Follow any reasonable work instruction as may be required from time to time.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 / Matric with Maths is essential
    • CTFL Learnership or 1 year’s relevant production experience in a factory environment is essential.
    • Ability and skill to operate the Extrusion machines according to quality standards and product specifications
    • Must not be colour blind
    • Must have good vision (to see the finer details).
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001,18001 is an advantage
    • System and application knowledge e.g. 5S, D365
    • The incumbent requires technical knowledge and experience (minimum 2 years) in Extrusion production.

    Inbound Inventory Controller

    Key Accountabilities and Outputs:

    Inbound Logistics

    •  Move raw materials from production output bins and store in storage bins in the Raw Material Warehouse.
    • Accurately record destination storage bin for the raw materials.
    • Receive goods and process goods receipt transactions on relevant systems.
    • Physically inspect goods for damages.
    • Verify goods received for damages.
    • Issue raw materials and packaging as per requests from the various production departments.
    • Issue raw materials to production against relevant production order documentation and process goods issue transactions on relevant systems.
    • Issue yarn and fibre to Outbound Logistics against relevant sales order documentation and process goods issue transaction on relevant systems.
    • Process returns for all unused issues.

    Warehousing, Inventory and Logistics

    Ensure all inventory procured or manufactured by the company is managed to ensure that:

    • Inventory losses through damages, theft, obsolescence, or other shrinking factors are minimized.
    • Inventory is stored in a manner that prolongs the life of the goods and maintains the quality standard of the original product.
    • Perform regular cycle counts and full inventory counts to establish accuracy of actual stock vs system stock and proactively address variances.
    • Plan space within the warehouses and inventory locations to make the most of the given floor space.
    • Inventory locations are well marked, logically assigned and at any time clearly indicated the categorization or types of goods that must be stored therein.
    • Inventory is stored relative to its velocity, so that distances between storage and issuing areas are minimized.
    • Inventory is issued using FIFO or similar methods to maintain a high level of fresh stock.
    • Inventory transactions are processed on the inventory system to maintain the integrity of the inventory count, and to accurately reflect actual material movements taking place in the real world.
    • Implement effective controls to ensure inventory receipts and issues are accurately recorded and reflected in the source system.
    • Inventory storage complies with relevant safety and regulatory aspects in terms of fire security, stacking heights, stacking weights etc.
    • Store inventory in a manner that optimizes any taxation benefits that may apply.
    • Manage SARS Rebate inventory to ensure compliance to SARS requirements.

    • Report all safety hazards, incidents and near misses.
    • Ensure housekeeping is kept to 5S standards.
    • Conduct forklift checks and complete checklists

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 / Matric with Math’s is essential.
    • Supply Chain Diploma / Degree is preferable
    • Valid Forklift License
    • 3 to 5 years relevant logistics and warehouse experience in a similar role within a relevant industry
    • System and application knowledge e.g., 5S, ERP, MRP, WMS systems is essential.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications is essential.
    • Previous experience working in logistics and warehousing is essential.
