    Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary - Acute Rehab

    • The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary is responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group o patients and will function under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and Unit Manager in accordance with hospital standards and policies.
    • As a Professional Practitioner, the incumbent is also responsible for and is held accountable for his/her own acts and omissions.
    • The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will be responsible for the assessment and care of the needs of patients and will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programs of care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients/ report potential/ actual risks identified, ensure all stock is well controlled and managed.  

    Requirements

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary
    • Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary and all applicable health care legislation
    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • A certificate in Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary

    Work Experience

    • 3 year experience in same position
    • Relevant experience in the nursing discipline  

    Knowledge

    • Flexible in working hours/Shifts
    • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation.

    Registered Nurse - Acute Rehab

    The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance to hospital standards and policies. The incumbent will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs, is a role model in the delivery of evidence based care and will actively participate in Clinical Governance.  

    Requirements

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or equivalent NQF 7 qualification 
    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF qualifications
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse

    Work Experience

    • At least three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience in a Private Hospital
    • Relevant experience in all of the nursing disciplines is essential
    • Acute Rehab working experience is essential

    Knowledge

    • Flexible in working hours/shifts
    • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
    • Computer Literacy, SAP will be an advantage
    • Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assumes total responsibility for these activities

    Unit Manager - Acute Rehab

    • The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating training, development and mentoring of staff in the Unit. The incumbent will be expected to apply and manage the best and most effective operational practice by focusing on the integration of people, technology and financial drivers in ensuring that Unit costs are maintained within budget.  

    Responsibilities and Duties: 

    • Administer and supervise thus ensuring standards for quality nursing care are met in the unit, evaluate on an ongoing basis and take appropriate action
    • Monitor and enforce standards, procedures and staff performance. Manage unit activities including irregularities and policy violations and take corrective and follow-up action. Perform clinical instruction as necessary
    • Control drugs as per regulations of the Pharmacy Act (Act 53 of 1974), perform checks on drug totals and drug registers and ensure that procedures and recording are adhered to
    • Rationalise and control emergency stock
    • Stock control
    • Monitor and manage staff attendance and ensure coverage of the unit at all times. Allocate staff, based on workload and level of competence ensuring optimal staff usage and maintaining the stability of nurse/patient ratio
    • Promote and maintain good working and interpersonal relationships with management, patients, staff, doctors and colleagues. Coordinate the activities of all hospital departments to provide uniformity of direction
    • Demonstrate professional ethics and leadership qualities. Maintain standards and conduct to the South African Nursing Act and SANC Regulations
    • Conduct frequent ward rounds and provide top-quality, customer-centric service
    • Ensure processes are in line with the working procedures and policies of Busamed 

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF qualifications
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
    • Post basic qualification in Management will be an advantage

    Work Experience

    • At least five (5) years relevant experience
    • Relevant experience in Management and clinical leadership is required
    • Acute Rehab working experience is essential

    Knowledge

    • Computer Literacy essential
    • Sound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data
    • Excellent organizational skills

    Case Manager: Acute Rehab

    The Case Manager will be responsible for the liaison between the patient and medical aids in order to secure payment for the hospital.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • Diploma in Nursing Qualification is essential/ SANC registration is compulsory 

    Work Experience

    • Previous Case Management in Acute Rehab experience is advantageous
    • ICD & CPT Coding would be advantageous 

    Knowledge

    • Intermediate computer skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Knowledge of Medical aids
    • Ensuring all the relevant details on Hospital Billing System are updated and are accurate
    • Supply all details regarding the patients’ history to Clinical partners
    • Monitor and control costs for Managed Care Organization patients
    • Confirm length of stay for all Managed Care Organization patients
    • Accompany Managed Care Organization Case Managers on ward rounds in the hospital
    • Assist with final authorization of Managed Care patient files
    • Ensure correct coding for all Managed Care Organization patients
    • Consult with the relevant services providers regarding the patient care treatment
    • Assist with the transfer of patients to Rehab hospital or step down facilities
    • Arrange in-service training for relevant staff to meet the needs of the theatre department
    • Liaise network of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that managed care of patients is maintained
    • Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals
    • Active involvement in own professional development to maintain a satisfactory level of skill and knowledge
    • Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial

    Theatre Stock Controller

    • Theatre Stock Controller is responsible for the daily stock control in the theatre and catheterisation lab. This includes control over consignment, aged, short dated, excess and obsolete stock, defective products and new product information of stock in the theatre complex.

    Requirements

    • Daily stock counts, reconciliations and relevant documentation.
    • Reconciliation of schedule drug books and ensure accurate daily charging of all items.
    • Daily billing of all charge sheets including accurate billing of miscellaneous charges.
    • Assist in the effective management of labour hours through adhering to all Busamed Gateway Private Hospital policies with respect to personal time and attendance.
    • Have an understanding of the SAP FFS Interpretation & Billing Document 2011and understand and interpret the FFS & NHN Tariff Structure
    • Ordering of stock specific to the theatre complex
    • Ensuring availability of stock required by surgeons for performing all procedures in the theatre complex
    • Controlling of stock in the theatre complex with special attention to expiry dates, formulary compliance and usage
    • Billing, ordering and control over consignment stock
    • Performing regular cycle counts in theatre and assist in full stock take process
    • Management of over and under recoveries in the theatre
    • Assisting in updating theatre stock lists
    • Liaise with company representatives, doctors and nursing staff in theatre
    • Related house-keeping tasks
    • All duties assigned by management from time to time

    Work Experience

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
    • At least 2 years’ relevant experience within the hospital environment
    • SAP experience
    • Theatre Stock system experience
    • Working experience in private healthcare or healthcare funding industry will be advantageous.

    Knowledge

    • Computer literate – must be accurate and pay attention to details
    • Customer-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge and experience of SAP would be an advantage
    • Good organisational and administration skills
    • Proactive, organised and able to multitask and work well under pressure
    • Participative and able to work as part of the team.
