    Farm Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience as farm manager of a commercial farm or management experience in managing people/projects/division in an agricultural farming environment.
    • Relevant agricultural qualification with horticulture an advantage.
    • At least 5 years stone fruit or citrus experience.
    • Proven experience in people management and development.
    • Administrative skills with good computer fluency.
    • Extensive knowledge of modern farming practices which should include orchard establishment, pruning, tree manipulation, irrigation etc.
    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

    • Grow and manage the farm orchards in terms of irrigation, Fertigation, herbicides and pesticides. Objectives include increasing tree health and yield.
    • Manage the Nguni stud and all aspects related to cattle such as pastures for high intensity grazing, cattle health and commerce, which includes transport of cattle at point of sale.
    • Farm security such as maintenance of perimeter fences, road infrastructure and accountability for security company duties and liaison.
    • Managing farm irrigation and water structure such as pipes, pumps and filters.
    • The farm is digitised - must be able to keep detailed digital records, schedule irrigation and monitor trends. Must be comfortable using technology and doing reporting.
    • Monitoring and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
    • Financial and cost management - operate within a defined budget and targets.
    • Manage and develop relationship with key farm partners, such as irrigation, electrical, crop, scientists, fertilization, chemical, plumbing etc. 
    • Manage the live-in on farm workers as well as able to plan, contract and manage contract labour teams in line with best practice for seasonal work as and when required e.g. picking, pruning etc.
    • Able to manage the olive oil production for olive oil pressing, as well as the oil factory storage, oil and fruit sales.
    • Vehicle will be available for on-farm work. Must have a valid driver’s permit for car, code 10 truck and be able and willing to drive the farm tractor/equipment when needed.
    • Excellent project management and people skills, able to work across diverse cultures and expertise.
    • Effective management of the total human resources component. All relevant labour legislation & best labour practices.
    • Accountable for Health and Safety specific to farming environment.
    • Self-starter that is able to work independently and without supervision. Must be able to work proactively and autonomous. Farm manager will be required to set the daily/weekly/monthly work schedules for the farm, as well as manage its outcomes.
    • Strong attention to detail, and proven track record of record keeping and make data informed decisions.
    • Must be passionate about farming, willing and able to learn and not be afraid to “get hands dirty” in ensuring successful outcomes.
    • Nonsmoker, in good health without medical restrictions.
    • No criminal record.
    • Adherence to and management in line with farm rules, policies and procedures.
    • Must have contactable references.
    • This is a live-in farm job with oversight of the farm 24/7 - accommodation will be provided accordingly for duration of employment on the farm.

    Creditors Clerk

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Accurate processing and capturing of supplier invoices in the accounting system
    • Matching purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices
    • Reconciling supplier statements to creditor ledger balances
    • Preparing payment batches and ensuring timeous payments to suppliers
    • Liaising with suppliers to resolve queries and discrepancies
    • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
    • Assisting with month-end closing procedures and reporting
    • Capturing and reconciling bank transactions and statements
    • Managing debit card, petty cash transactions, and invoicing other entities
    • Filing and ensuring compliance with finance-related documentation requirements
    • Supporting internal and external audit processes
    • Communicating effectively across all levels to support efficient operations
    • Performing age analysis on creditors and general reporting on Pastel

     Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • A National Diploma or Certificate in Financial Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field (advantageous)
    • Completion of a recognized creditors/accounts payable course (advantageous)

    IT Technician

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

    • 3 - 5 Years Relevant Experience
    • CompTIA A+ and CompTIA N+
    • Microsoft MCSA/MCSE
    • Additional Networking Certifications would be advantageous 

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

    • Configuring, Troubleshooting and Maintaining the IT Infrastructure (Servers, Switches, Firewalls etc)
    • Configure, Troubleshoot and Maintain End User Devices (Desktops, Laptops, Mobiles etc)
    • Managing Office 365 Users
    • Keep Infrastructure Documentation up to date (Asset Registers, Network Diagram etc)
    • Ensure Backups are Adequate and Running as per Disaster Recovery Plan
    • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures
    • Good Communication to Stakeholders
    • Ensure Secure Best Practices and Access Control are followed
    • Ensure Tickets are Prioritized/Escalated Efficiently and Closed within Scope
    • Manage 3rd Party Installations
    • Off Season Tasks may vary from above
    • Updates on Project/Task Management Platforms are done
    • End User Cyber Security Awareness Training
    • Procure Stock Needed for Projects and Tasks

    Dairy Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

    • Minimum 2-3 years’ Dairy farming experience
    • Hardworking, honest, and loyal
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong interpersonal skills and staff management abilities
    • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
    • Able to take initiative, while still being willing to take guidance, and advice
    • Willing to work longer hours when necessary
    • Computer literacy essential
    • Xhosa language skills advantageous
    • Pasture management knowledge advantageous

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Key role in supporting Senior Manager in all daily farm activities
    • Accurate data entry into Afikim and 4th Quadrant
    • Daily Dairy Operations
    • Dairy duties every second weekend
    • Helping with seasonal tasks such as calving, planting, and more
    • Managing staff and allocating their daily work
    • General farm work, plus machinery and irrigation maintenance

    Creditors Clerk - Nelspruit

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Relevant qualification and or experience in Finance.
    • Pastel
    • The packhouse experience will be a major benefit

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

    •  Timely and accurate capturing of all purchase transactions
    • Process invoices in Pastel (correct costing on Pastel)
    • Reconciling of creditors' accounts
    • Capturing and reconciliation of bank transactions and statements
    • Purchase order processing
    • Capturing of creditors' bank payments
    • Recon, debit card, petty cash, and invoice other entities
    • Ensuring creditors is paid on payment terms
    • Filing and record keeping of finance related documentation, and compliance related requirements. Assisting with internal and external audits 
    • Ensuring good communication on all levels (upward and downwards) to ensure effective and efficient operations
    • Age analysis on creditors, cash book, general reporting on Pastel
    • Creating and reconciliation of Purchase Orders
