Qualifying Criteria :

• Grade 11 or equivalent ABET Level
• MQA Competency B Certificate
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Fluency in any of the 11 Official languages
• Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Must be deadline-driven with the ability to work under pressure
• Must be able to work underground
• Applicant must possess written and verbal communication skills
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record
• Must be declared medically fit by our Occupational Health Centre.

 Responsibilities :

• Work a rotation of shifts
• Perform all the duties safely as trained by our training centre
• Be observant of the condition of equipment and materials used to ensure company standards are met   
• Promptly report any possible problems that may cause work obstruction
• Must be able to determine the cleanliness of the workplace and adhere to housekeeping standards and procedures   
• Comply with proper Health and Safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when performing various duties underground) Perform any related duties as may be required  from time to time by a supervisor

 Job specification

• Grade 11 or equivalent NQF4 qualifications
• Valid Blasting/Rock Breaking Certificate for Metalliferous Mine
• Must have conventional development, trackless decline blasting experience, and hydropower drilling experience in a trackless mining environment.
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Trackless mining
• Proficiency in English and any other of the 11 official languages
• Have ability and skills to coach, guide, and transfer knowledge
• Computer literacy will be advantageous
• Must be a legal South African citizen
• Valid Driver’s License & own transport
• Clear Criminal Record

 Responsibilities

• Work a circle of shifts
• Candidate must have a sound knowledge of trackless mining
• Ability to plan, organize, control, and supervise the work of subordinates on trackless and in development
• Ensure safe and quality underground operations to achieve daily production targets
• Play a key role in taking charge of trackless and development blasting/rock breaking operations within the designated area of responsibility to ensure the delivery on set targets
• Responsibilities and functions include, but not limited to ensuring that all teams adhere and comply with HSE standards, procedures, and policies in order to ensure successful production
• Perform all related mining duties as may be advised from time to time by the section Mine Overseer
• Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that  it cannot be done safely”

Job specification

• Grade 11 or equivalent NQF4 qualifications
• Valid Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mines
• Minimum 2-3 years’ previous experience in Trackless Mining
• TMM, Conventional Development, Stoping, and Hydropower drilling experience
• A Mining Production Supervisor Certificate will be advantageous.
• Proficiency in English and any other of the 11 official languages
• Computer literacy will be advantageous.
• South African Driver’s License (Code 8-10) essential
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record

Responsibilities

• Provide support and best practices within the mining section(s)
• Ensuring that all blasting activities within the designated area of responsibility are efficiently executed and controlled to promote effective production goals and reach set targets.
• Ability to plan, supervise, and control subordinates on both stoping and development ends.
• Ensure equipment and material availability in the area of responsibility to optimize production.
• Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that  it cannot be done safely”
