    Enrolled Nurse – Cardiac Ward 2

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and Unit Manager.

    Facilities Artisan

    Main Focus Areas

    • Facility/Mechanical Artisan is responsible for all HVAC and medical plants of the facility.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Ensure operation and reliability of mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
    • Co-ordinate routine maintenance on all mechanical plant, air-conditioning units, air handling units, heat pumps, vacuum pumps, compressors, autoclaves, kitchen equipment, gas installations, hot and cold-water reticulation and all other mechanical equipment,

    • At least an N4/N5 qualification in Mechanical Engineering with a trade test certificate,

    • Practical experience within a hospital environment or similar environment is preferred,
    • General knowledge in HVAC, air conditioning systems, hospital isolock, air compressors and vacuum pump systems would be beneficial,

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Night Supervisor will be responsible for the Clinical Nursing Management of the hospital at night.     Main Focus Areas

    Social Worker - Acute Rehab

    Speech & Language Therapist– Acute Rehab

    Main Focus Areas

    • A vacancy exists for a Locum Speech Therapist within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at eThekwini Hospital & Heart Centre. This successful candidate will report to the Therapy Manager.     • Provide holistic speech and language therapy to in-patients in a rehabilitation setting.
    • Assess and manage patients with conditions such as stroke (CVA), traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), orthopedic injuries, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and other multi-morbidity conditions.
    • Conduct swallowing risk assessments for all relevant patients upon admission and prior to initiating oral feeds.
    • Monitor safe swallowing and feeding practices during meals (breakfast and lunch) in collaboration with nursing staff and rehabilitation attendants.
    • Work closely with the dietician to determine appropriate dietary needs and food/fluid consistencies.
    • Educate patients and families on communication and swallowing disorders.

    • Participate in career training and discharge planning.

    Hospital Manager I La Verna Hospital, Ladysmith (D4)

    Role Summary: 

    • Reporting to the Cluster Hospital CEO, this is a critical role to lead high-performing teams in managing the hospital platform and executing the strategy to ensure the success and sustainability of the business for the benefit of all its stakeholders.
    • You will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders including the Doctors, Group Managers and the Executive team to maintain and implement growth initiatives, drive innovation and enable digital transformation, providing leadership and creating alignment to the strategic imperatives set.      

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    Key Performance Areas: The successful incumbent will be accountable to the Cluster Hospital CEO and will be responsible to lead, manage and develop all departments within the hospital to create a world class facility that meets regulatory, financial, quality, clinical and patient-centred objectives.   The successful incumbent should perform, inter alia, the following key performance areas:  

    • Drive key financial and quality metrics in line with the strategic imperatives of the business.
    • Oversee the recruiting and marketing of new doctors in line with the hospital’s vision and strategic objectives.
    • Collaborate with business to implement new ways of business and manage issues around the implementation, alignment, integration and leveraging of the technical implementation of new technology;
    • Build & manage relationships with medical professionals & other key stakeholders to ensure growth and brand loyalty.
    • Ensure quality customer service is aligned with the mission, vision and values of the Group;
    • Ensure operational practices are aligned with the operating model of the organisation;
    • Ensure adherence to ethical & clinical standards;
    • Ensure uncompromising quality nursing care;
    • Achieve financial targets that meet the growth agenda;
    • Effective management of productivity and cost efficiency;
    • Effective leadership and people management;
    • Remain abreast of industry developments and identify and manage issues relating to the alignment, integration and leveraging of technologies;
    • Oversee technology health of all applications and infrastructure;
    • Proactively identify and resolve ongoing bottlenecks and obstacles and drive the quality of delivery to business and user adoption;
    • Oversee vendor compliance and performance and take remedial action where necessary;
    • Drive compliance to regulatory and legislative standards;
    • Track and report on Key Risk Indicators for systems stability.

    Minimum Required Education:

    • Relevant University Degree
    • A post-graduate business qualification will be an advantage

    Inherent Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role with a track record of successfully delivering results and managing a team;
    • Prior healthcare experience, in a management capacity, will be an advantage;
    • Demonstrated ability of driving strategy and innovation in the business;
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills with high levels of interpersonal agility.
    • Well-developed business, commercial and financial acumen with strong budget management skills.
    • Drives continuous improvement.
    • Ability to Integrate across teams, processes and organisational layers;
    • Requires parallel processing thinking (i.e. thinking on a number of levels simultaneously);
    • Managing delivery at this level requires a strong capacity to lead change;

    People & Culture Business Partner – Wilmed, Parkmed, Daleside and Sunningdale Hospitals (Klerksdorp)

    Main Focus Areas

    • The People & Culture Business Partner is responsible for the provision of support to line managers in the execution of people & culture related activities and to consult on the people component of the unit’s business plan. The incumbent will further be required to participate as a credible business partner by developing people & culture solutions that add value to the business units’ core strategic focus areas for all four Klerksdorp hospitals

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Proactively advise and educate managers and employees on how to address IR issues such as employee performance, employee conduct and inappropriate interpersonal actions to pre-empt and prevent escalations and formal actions.
    • Ensure the implementation of transformation strategies and achievement of transformation goals as set out by the Consultative Forum Committee (Employment Equity Committee)
    • Maintain effective working relationships with local learning institutions and recruitment agencies to expand pool of candidates.
    • Guide and motivate others to take action in supporting organizational change.
    • Foster a learning environment that encourages openness, information sharing, inquiry, and trust. Provide opportunities for continuous adult learning in the Business Unit and/or Area
    • Ensure that all standard and non-standard personnel administration queries and work requests are resolved efficiently and effectively with the required SLA’s and turnaround times
    • Coach leaders on effective performance management, driving employee engagement, and fostering team development to enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
    • Utilize data analytics to monitor core HR and business processes, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Track and report on culture-related key performance indicators (KPIs), assess progress, and proactively address barriers to successful adoption and integration.
    • Lead and support change management initiatives that facilitate cultural transformation and align with organizational goals.
    • Actively involved in all HR Strategic Projects

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • A three-year Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or an equivalent NQF level 7 qualification
    • Minimum 3 -5 years people & culture Generalist experience, operating as a transformation or change agent.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience on a management level.
    • Extensive Experience within a unionized environment and building employee relations experience is essential
    • Good knowledge of Remuneration, Talent Management, Transformation, Recruitment and Selection, Learning and Development, Organizational Design and Reengineering, IR and Performance Management.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
    • Ability to travel for meetings and workshops in and around the country
    • SAGE 300 and Kronos time and attendance experience will be an advantage

    HPH -Registered Nurse ICU Trained

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies and will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
    • Contribute to the holistic care of patients
    • Attend handover of report at shift commencement
    • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
    • Promote patient of health and wellbeing
