    Maintenance Clerk: Operations

    • To provide clerical support to maintenance function administration and data, to furnish administrative back-up for maintenance management and scheduling, to assist with procurement processes and to acquire approved publications for the on-site library.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Full and accurate task-by-task details to do the job
    • All materials / parts are ordered to agreed delivery requirements
    • WO is correctly prepared and fully specified whilst complying with SHEQ requisites
    • Engineering and financial reports
    • Identify system issues and reports.
    • Set up physical organisation and cataloguing of physical publications and related resources
    • Perform modifications analysis onto existing system.
    • Record keeping of equipment failures, Inspections, available spares and service records.
    • General clerical duties, e.g. taking notes during morning and operations meetings (e.g. internal and external audits and notes for department)
    • Recording of work done by SARAO for SKAO

    Key Requirements:
    Qualification:

    • Grade:12 or higher (Technical, Administration, Data Processing)
    • Computer Literacy

    Experience:

    • 2-year working experience in Administration
    • Planning, scheduling and administrative experience
    • Experience in Log keeping systems

    Knowledge:

    • Maintenance practices and procedures
    • Materials Controls
    • Computerised maintenance management system exposure
    • Understanding of work order and job card systems

    Maintenance Planner

    • To be responsible for planning maintenance and technical services work. Provides support to storeroom operations. Administer the maintenance management system (CMMS – RAMLOG), monitor and generate reports on maintenance performance for management decision making. Serves as a primary resource for CMMS implementation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure all jobs task and trades correctly identified and allocated.
    • Complete full detailed work pack.
    • Full and accurate task-by-task details to do the job right first time
    • All materials / parts are ordered to agreed delivery requirements
    • WO is correctly prepared and fully specified whilst complying with SHEQ requisites
    • Risk in each task identified and controlled
    • Engineering and financial reports
    • Apply stringent rules to achieve a radio quit zone
    • Identify system issues and reports.
    • Perform analysis off system for tasks/store items/scheduling/safety/QA
    • Perform modifications analysis onto RAMLOG system.
    • Record keeping of equipment failures, Inspections, available spares and service records.
    • Record keeping and capturing of SMA work

    Key Requirements:
    Qualification:

    • National Diploma NQF-6 Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
    • Valid drivers·license (Code B)
    • Computer Literacy

    Experience:

    • 5-years working experience in the maintenance systems
    • Planning, scheduling and administrative experience in an engineering/construction environment
    • Experience in CMMS systems

    Knowledge:

    • Maintenance and operations practices and procedures
    • Relevant materials standards
    • Maintenance strategies and applications
    • Computer applications that support maintenance
    • Quality Management system
    • OHS Act and applicable regulations
    • Technical knowledge to support the planning of maintenance work

    Additional Notes:

    • Communicate clearly and effectively (both written and verbal)
    • Act independently and be a mentor to junior team members
    • Conduct training and transfer of knowledge
    • Work independently as well as in a team
    • Read and interpret technical drawings, files, records and catalogues
    • Forecast and plan in anticipation of future tasks and jobs
    • The ability to analyse problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
    • Accuracy and focus on detail
