• Curatorial and exhibitions assistant

Other competency requirements:

• Knowledge of the South African art & creative industry
• Understanding of computer programs, Windows, GroupWise, Kuali.
• Teamwork- Encourages cooperation, collaboration and partnerships
• Communication: Shares information with and receives information from constituencies using oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Stewardship and managing resources: Demonstrate accountability, discretion and sound judgment in managing university resources

Minimum requirements

• Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communication and Art History or any relevant qualification.

Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESEARCH

• Drive and manage research productivity, output, and quality Create an enabling research environment and guide innovation initiatives Recommend and guide recommended academic development and capacity building to improve research outputs Conduct own research and publication and maintain academic scholarship. Support engaged research in the faculty.

TEACHING AND LEARNING

• Teach courses as required Quality assurance and management of teaching outputs Drive and manage teaching and learning productivity, output and quality aligned to the Teaching and Learning Plan

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

• Participate in community engagement activities 4. MANAGEMENT Provide value-based leadership in transformation of the school

• PhD in Chemistry

RESEARCH

• Undertake research within the Unit for Environment Sciences and Management on issues of Geology and Soil Sciences
• Supervision of post-graduate students.
• Produce research output through international and national accredited articles.
• Fundraising for research.

TEACHING

• Teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate level in Geology

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

• Application of expertise in communities to address local identified issues of Geology/Soil Sciences

ADMINISTRATION

• Administrative tasks including curriculum development

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Essential: Geology
• Essential: Petrology and/or economic geology
• Desirable: Additional knowledge in structural geology
• Essential: Practical geological/palaeontological skills
• Essential: Field work experience/mapping

• 3 years experience in conducting research and proof of publication record in accredited journals
• Accreditation with SACNASP– desirable
• membership with the GSSA – desirable
