    Local Content Compliance Manager (Cape Town)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish and Oversee Regional LC Compliance Program: Customize compliance strategies for each African country, particularly in the Oil & Gas sector. Manage regulatory reporting processes, ensuring alignment with industry-specific requirements.
    • Regulatory Monitoring and Adaptation: Stay updated on evolving local content laws and regulations in African Oil & Gas. Implement proactive measures for seamless compliance.
    • Collaboration and Leadership: Partner closely with the Chief Risk Officer and regional compliance managers to drive continuous improvement and share best practices, focusing on industry-specific challenges and solutions.
    • Risk and Crisis Management: Facilitate an efficient escalation process for urgent compliance risks, including environmental regulations, local workforce engagement, and ethical sourcing.
    • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to the General Manager and leadership team, highlighting compliance risks, industry trends, and proactive initiatives for regulatory changes.
    • Culture and Training: Cultivate a robust compliance culture in the region, emphasizing the significance of local content laws in Oil & Gas. Lead compliance training and awareness programs tailored to regional and industry-specific needs.
    • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead compliance projects critical to our Risk and Compliance function, addressing industry-relevant challenges and solutions.

    Qualifications:

    • 5-7 years of Compliance Management experience, preferably in Oil & Gas or related fields.
    • Proven ability in building and operating Compliance functions, particularly regarding local content requirements in Africa.
    • Experience managing a regional and distributed workforce, with a deep understanding of diverse cultural and legislative landscapes.
    • Substantial global experience, especially in multinational Oil & Gas corporations.
    • Leadership skills with experience in reporting to senior executives.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Portuguese, and French, including preparing and submitting industry-specific regulatory reports.
    • Proficiency in working within a matrix organization, demonstrating effective cross-functional communication and collaboration.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with a history of leading through influence and fostering adaptable problem-solving approaches.

    Desirable Additional Skills:

    • Knowledge of local languages spoken in key operational regions in Africa.
    • Familiarity with environmental and social governance (ESG) standards relevant to the Oil & Gas sector.
    • Advanced degrees or certifications in Compliance, Law, or related fields, with a focus on the Oil & Gas industry.

    Drilling Solutions Engineer (Cape Town)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • All tasks are carried out in accordance with Engineering group policies and quality procedures under the leadership of the Engineering Manager.
    • Contribute to sales and marketing efforts to ensure products offered are in line with engineering group and company strategies
    • Monitor bit performance. Identify drilling trends and implement optimization practices.
    • Establish basic knowledge of the incident investigation process relative to RH bits [ITraX submission, ITraX Level-1 & Level-2 investigations]
    • Be able to accurately describe dull conditions vs. root causes for PDC /RC Drill bit. Communicate failure modes leading up to observed dull conditions
    • Complete Personal Training steps for product knowledge and safety
    • Provide technical support both internally and externally to customers.
    • Provide Bit Run assistance as required
    • Assist field testing and new technology commercialization
    • Chair client meetings and monitor individual's performance to ensure customer care is at the foremost position
    • Remain aware and involved in the latest developments within the industry and the greater engineering world to identify any potential concepts that could be incorporated into new designs
    • Travel as and when required in order to support the business
    • Develop accurate and complete documentation of data and project results in a timely manner.
    • Provide data analysis & benchmarking 
    • Interact with personnel in other departments and disciplines.
    • Consistently produce quality work and recommend areas where quality can be improved.
    • Attend field runs and visit service shops to provide basic technical support for products when required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree: BSc in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent oilfield major - Degree Score: Minimum 2:1 (3.0 to 3.33 GPA) (essential) 
    • Degree: BSc in Petroleum Engineering - Degree Score: 1st Class degree score (Minimum 3.5 GPA)(desirable) 

    EXPERIENCE

    • 0 to 3 years maximum experience in the Oil and Gas industry (essential)

    SKILLS, TRAINING OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE

    • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential)
    • Proficiency in English language (Essential)
    • Willing to travel as and when required to various locations, within at least +/- 12 months after hiring date and your full availability to the program by staying abroad for a prolonged number of months straight (minimum of 6 months).
    • Your dedication to the full +/- 12 months program is mandatory. Once the training program is concluded, you will be based in Cape Town for a full-time drilling solution engineering (DSE) job.

    Temp GL Accountant Assistant (Cape Town)

    Accounts Receivable and Payable

    • Monthly reconciliation of all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledger accounts
    • Balance GL to AR and AP sub-system balances
    • Process all payments and receipts via the ERP system and reconcile statements 

    Inter-company Accounting

    • Obtain IC invoices and supporting documents from IC partners 
    • Accrue of IC invoices not processed
    • Reconcile IC balances with other IC partners

    Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting

    • Ensure that the General Ledger and Fixed Asset/Lease sub-systems are aligned
    • Ensure additions and disposals to fixed assets/leases are recorded and documented accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the entity’s policy

    General Ledger and Month End Reporting

    • Prepare and process all relevant journals with appropriate supporting information
    • Maintain Balance Sheet Reconciliations in line with corporate requirements
    • Follow up on corrections and clearing of any required balance sheet reconciling items within appropriate timelines
    • Carry out monthly close procedures
    • Preparation of financial information and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
    • Support any required ad-hoc requests and cost analysis
    • Contribute to any specific function projects

    Reporting & Statutory

    • Assist with organizing and preparation and filing of information as required for statutory and tax audits in respective countries.
    • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls (SOX).

    QUALIFICATIONS:  

    •  Third Year of Bachelor degree or higher degree in Accounting or Finance. 

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

    • Strong understanding of accounting theory
    • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
    • Proficiency with email and Microsoft applications
    • ERP system experience
    • Fluent in English, French would be advantageous
