    Head: Listed Investments

    Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

    • Honours degree (statistics, mathematics, finance, accounting, investment management, portfolio management or any other relevant commerce) or equivalent 
    • Professional qualifications (CFA, CA, FRM, PRM) 
    • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience, of which 5 years must at least be in senior management. 
    • FAIS RE5, RE1 and RE3 (or to be obtained within 6 months)  

    Preferred Qualifications : 

    • Post graduate qualification MBA/M.Com/MFI/MSc/ Engineering and/or any relevant Master’s degree  

    Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement 

    • Relevant experience in team leadership and People management 
    • Knowledge of risk management 
    • Interpretation of client mandates 
    • Tactical asset and sector allocation 
    • Good investment and people judgment 
    • Time Management and prioritisation

    Duties:

    • Manage stakeholders and work cohesively with peers, clients and principals. 
    • To provide strategic vision, leadership, and management of the Listed Investments 
    • Manage and coordinate all equity investment functions of the PIC to ensure that the listed investments deliver on its mandated objective of outperformance. 
    • Drive PIC’s strategic vision in the Listed Investments division. 
    • Development of strategies and policies for the listed investments (listed equities, listed REITS, fixed income and externally managed). 
    • Management of the listed equities, fixed income, property and multi-management processes. 
    • Development and maintenance of the asset allocation strategy. 
    • Manage the incorporation of ESG principles into the investment process. 
    • Lead a dynamic team of professionals.

    Investment Analyst: Multi-Management: Private Markets

    Requirements:

    • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification 
    • Postgraduate qualification (Hons, Masters, MBA, etc), CFA or CA(SA) would be advantageous 
    • FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment 
    • 2 -3 years of investment experience. Private Equity, Fund of Funds or Multi-manager experience would be advantageous 
    • Ability to conduct detailed research on sectors or industries.  

    Duties:

    • Deal screening - desktop analysis of investment opportunities 
    • Preparation of preliminary scoping reports 
    • Assist the team in complying with the requirements of each stage of the investment process 
    • Assist the team in planning and coordinating due diligence on potential investment opportunities 
    • Assist the team with relevant research and information in structuring and pricing of transactions 
    • Assist the team in preparing term sheets 
    • Assist the team in the preparation of appraisal reports 
    • Review transaction agreements 
    • Assist the team in the implementation and disbursement process

    Data Technologist

    Requirements:

    • 5 - 8 years Information Technology experience in data operations roles in data engineering, analytics platforms, data management, or other analytics. 
    • At least 3 years of experience must be in a financial services institution, with knowledge of asset management industry, including financial instruments and market data. 
    • Experience with MS Power Platform development and Power BI or other Data Visualization tools like QlikSense, Tableau, Business Objectives. 
    • Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools like Azure ML, Azure AI, AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Databricks. 
    • Knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, Scala and data query languages like T-SQL, KQL, DA. 
    • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Azure Purview, Axon, Collibra, Alation). 
    • Project management, Agile methodology and development life cycle experience. 
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience. 
    • Strong knowledge of Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK) framework principles. 
    • ITIL Foundation and COBIT certified. 
    • Data Professional Certificate such as Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate  

    Duties:

    • Configure and manage data platforms and services such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Purview. 
    • Coordinate integrations between data platforms, data sources and analytical tools and ensure interoperability between systems and orchestration layers. 
    • Design and implement robust ETL/ELT workflows and management of the Lakehouse. 
    • Design, implement and manage data pipelines including RESTful APIs for data ingestion. 
    • Creating semantic models and ensuring data quality and governance within the Fabric environment. 
    • Support implementation of data governance policies including metadata cataloging, data lineage, and integration through technical configurations. 
    • Develop and maintain controls on data quality, interoperability and sources to effectively manage corporate risk. 
    • Assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of the digital architecture, as well as a road map for future development that supports business needs. 
    • Leveraging AI/ML to develop, optimize and deploy models to solve business challenges. 
    • Carrying out pre-processing of structured and unstructured data. 
    • Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems. 
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures and platform incidents. 
    • Ongoing collaboration with Business and IT teams.

    Associate Fund Principal: Workout & Restructuring

    Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

    • B.Com (Honours) in Finance or B.Sc (Honours) in Finance or any other related commerce and finance degree 
    • A minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in commercial/corporate turnarounds and rehabilitation in an asset management / private equity organisation or a financial institution, or a consulting firm 
    • 4-5 years of management experience 
    • FAIS RE 05 Certificate (or obtained within 3 months of employment)  

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Post Graduate Degree (finance, engineering, legal) or any other relevant commerce and engineering degree 
    • CA (SA), CFA or Master’s degree would be an advantage  

    Key Technical/Core Skills Requirement: 

    • A well-developed knowledge of business, management and finance philosophies, practices, etc. 
    • Turnaround management/ Business Rescue experience and/or qualification. 
    • Able to use technical and business understanding to assist with the rehabilitation of non-performing assets. 
    • Able to apply a wide range of financial and risk assessment and mitigation techniques to the client’s business operations. 
    • Able to develop innovative solutions, identify new areas of opportunity, and identify, analyse and address the appropriate risks to rehabilitate the client.
    • Able to utilise complex influencing strategies for leverage. 
    • Strong business acumen and strategic advisory experience. 
    • Dealing with private sector / commercial workouts turnarounds – real examples will need to be provided. 
    • Extensive experience in the legal process associated with turnarounds /workouts, business rescue and liquidations. 

    Duties:

    • Develop and implement turnaround and monitoring plans for all assets that are placed in the Turnaround Portfolio, which are allocated to you in Consultation with the Fund Principal. 
    • Develop and keep updated the skills matrix of the Turnaround Panel Members to enable timeous and effective procurement. 
    • Assist in maximising the value of assets under management through proactive intervention and value addition in portfolio companies. 
    • Assist in the restructuring of investments that are experiencing financial difficulties to ensure long-term financial viability. 
    • Monitor all investments under turnaround in your portfolio on a bi-monthly (every second week) basis (compliance and performance) in accordance with monitoring processes, policies, guidelines, frameworks and practices. 
    • Prepare and present reports to Committees as indicated by the FP and to the various client committees. 
    • Ensure that key risk factors, that were not previously identified by PMV, are proctively identified and managed, including drafting lessons learnt and submitting to FP for inclusion in the Investment Process and for sharing with relevant PIC teams with a view to improving investment performance. 
    • Conduct portfolio company visits and maintain ongoing interactions with the portfolio companies. 
    • Supervise and mentor a team of internal resources and or specialist consultants in a private equity environment. 
    • Manage and monitor performance of external service providers, including liquidators and business rescue practitioners, to ensure that they deliver in terms of the agreed mandate on a timeous and cost-effective basis. 
    • Preparing submissions to nominate liquidators and business rescue practitioners to the Master to further our transformation objectives in the industry.
