    Logistician (ESC) – U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) – All Agencies

     

    Duties

    • Provides technical security support and services to posts in its respective geographic region.
    • Manages the ESC/ESO inventory and is responsible for supply chain management, logistics operations, procurement, and inventory reconciliation of technical systems and equipment maintained by the ESC/ESO at its post of residence and constituent posts throughout the region.
    • Assists with office administrative duties, travel arrangements, and tracking the office travel budget.
    • Provides logistics and administrative support to the Engineering Security Center (ESC).
    • Manages procurements and monitoring of equipment, parts, materials for technical security systems.
    • Travels and conducts annual inventory reconciliation in Pretoria and regional posts in South and East Africa.
    • Assists with work order management, travel arrangements, budget tracking. Manages storage locations.  

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

    • SECRET security clearance. 
    • Physical requirements include occasional lifting of boxes and tools, ability to climb ladder to access items at height.

    General Maintenance Worker (Legacy-Residential)

    Duties

    • Working in the Facility Management section of the Embassy, the General Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and minor repair work on the plumbing system and fixtures, general welding and masonry work in all mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties. 
    • Direct supervision is received from the Facility Management Assistant.

    • Maintenance and repair using industry aligned techniques and procedures involved in laying a variety of brick, block, stone, and concrete in the construction or repair of such items as partitions, walls, walkways, and roadways.

    Investigative Assistant (US Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs))

    Duties

    • The Investigative Assistant (IA) assists in an array of sensitive and complex criminal investigations related to document fraud, human smuggling, trafficking in persons, and other criminal issues as directed by the OCI.
    • The job holder provides investigative, analytical and administrative support in the operation of the Diplomatic Security (DS) Overseas Criminal Investigations (OCI) program at post.
    • The job holder updates the ongoing investigations database in Department of State (DOS) computer systems, and controls access of sensitive information. The IA must be able to obtain a Secret (S) security clearance.

    Residential Security Coordinator - All Interested Applicants / All Sources

    Duties

    • Incumbent provides administrative oversight of post's residential security program. Serves as the point of contact on all residential security matters between the RSO, General Service Office (GSO), Facilities Maintenance (FAC), and landlords.
    • Conducts security surveys of all current housing to ensure residential security standards are maintained and conducts security surveys on all proposed housing to ensure security suitability can be obtained and compliance with the Overseas Security Policy Board’s OSPB standards before occupancy.

    HVAC Controls Technician NEC - All Interested Applicants/All Sources (HVAC Mechanic)

    Duties

    • The incumbent reports to the Building Engineer Supervisor. The incumbent is employed as a journeyman level Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Controls Technician to carry out skilled maintenance and repair work throughout the New Embassy Compound (NEC) on critical and non-critical electrical components within the functional/office buildings, on-compound ancillary support and residential buildings, above and below ground infrastructures, recreational facilities, and other owned/leased properties.

    • Public Trust security clearance.
